snow ****in'

Latest map on local news site - looks like I'm in the 10.7" zone. (although I'm not sure where that zone stop and the 11.2" zone starts. :surrender: )

bilde

Flood watch still in effect around these parts :giggles:

Glad you all are preparing for this. Please be careful and check in when you are able!

It was really cloudy all day but the sun is out now.

They've started cancelling & rescheduling flights already. One of the guys I work with was supposed to fly out of JFK Saturday morning. That's now been pushed to Saturday evening. My guess is by the end of the day he'll be leaving on Sunday.

Watched the news at noon and they all seem to have settled on about 10" for this area but yet they're all still hedging their bets that if it turns to rain sooner or stays as rain longer it may not be as much. Let's hope.

I've got my shopping list all ready for later this evening. Any excuse to stock up on some junk food works for me. Hopefully they've got Toaster Scrambles in stock.

Saw this on facebook.....

The weatherman said "Get ready for 8 - 10 inches "....

I'm on my back, legs in the air, with heels on!!!!!!!!

while you're in the freezer section looking for junk food (is it junque food in Canada?), pick up a frozen-to-bake cherry pie

Yummy. I was thinking of picking up one of the Pepperidge Farm cakes everyone was talking about but we'll see what ends up in the basket. (or what's left on the shelves by the time I get there.)

I'm on a few local FB groups for buy/sell/trade and all of a sudden yesterday folks are selling their kids old snow pants, snow boots, etc. It's hilarious.

Oh how I hope he's right. (I'm still gettin' the junque food & taking the day off tomorrow. :giggles: )

:bliss:

"Nearly all of northern New Jersey and the Hudson Valley fall under the 3 to 6 inch category, and there'll be quite a gradient/big drop-off as you head farther south and west"

And this little storm that we are getting today, the meteorologists gave little attention to. Went from 1-3inches, to ice/snow mix, and now they have upgraded to 6-8inches with areas of more than that. Going in the wrong direction, weather guy!

My husband fixes the power lines and he left at 12:30 this afternoon. They are heading to New York and other crews are heading to Boston.I wish we got that much snow again,my six yr old did was just saying a cpl years ago she was able to walk onto the mailbox and ride it like it was a pony because the snow was so deep.lol

Started out shoveling...................**** it...................got out the snow blower! :surrender: It's been coming down heavy for almost 3 hours...............can't even tell I did the snow..............will have to go back out soon. :pout:

cookiemom feel free to come and take all the snow you want.

I have & it's not fun, at least when you aren't a kid anymore.
Kerri & I are in that dark purple possible 2-3 feet.

Decided I'm not digging out the long walkway to the shed where I keep the snowblower. Moving it tomorrow morning & it'll sit 3ft from my front door, covered by a tarp until I need it.

Hope they get paid just to come sit at Dunkin Donuts to drink coffee & eat donuts.

Don't want any power outages here at all. But glad extra crews are on the way, just in case.

Were they hired by Nstar or National Grid?

National grid, they were suppose to leave Sunday but he was given an hour to pack and leave so it must be getting bad.
