So here is the latest, only because some want to know:
Hit them stores #SNE ! More models coming around, MAJOR Nor'easter,likely damaging Snowstorm becoming reality Fri-Sat. Good Morning...Questions about a bit of mixing?....Sure there will be a bit, will not take away from likely widespread HUGE snowfall amounts region wide. what we have now as we have stepped closer to the event is a few models still indicating 1-2, perhaps 3 feet of snow. This storm will have copious amounts of moisture, the potential is ridiculous, strength of storm still ensues this is a predominant Snowstorm.Except perhaps OUTER Cape & Nantucket..Thats it !..Other aspects, strong sustained winds at the surface and potential for damaging winds, there are indications now this could be a Blizzard. I think in the end this storm will be VERY similar to The Presidents Day Blizzard back in 2003. YES Thundersnow is certainly on the table. Amounts on map may be a bit conservative.

The NAM model has gone crazy. I swear, this is NOT the forecast. Again NOT. No way.

I wanted to laugh too but I thought people would think I was making this stuff up. I don't hype a storm, I really don't. It is way after I see a storm start to materialize that I post anything. This one looks like it will be a big one.

I know. I'm really hoping my zone is way different from your zone.
Weather idiots in this area don't seem to really agree at this point. One guy says 2-5 inches another says about a foot. WTH? That's quite a big difference.

I know the reason for this. The weather people don't have time to look more than 36-48 hours in advance. There are a whole bunch of models that they need to look at. It really is 48 hours away and there is a chance that it could totally go away but the odds are, it will hit and hit big.

My best advice is to hit the markets today, get everything you need and don't try to get food after work tomorrow.

Well unfortunately that's my plan. Visit my uncle after work and then hit ShopRite. I'm hoping everyone goes there during the day so it won't be too bad in the evening. I don't need milk or bananas, so the shelves should be ok. Plus they're not really hyping the storm here (yet) so there may not be a crazy rush. Yes, I know I'm prolly dreaming that part.

LOL, possibly. There is also a small storm coming Feb. 14th.

70-something inches? :faint:

President's Day 2003 doesn't register with me, if they said '78, hell yeah. That sucker piled up snow taller than dad. We had to go out the back patio sliding glass doors because the front door was buried under 9 ft of snow.

My folks had left the shovels in the shed in the back yard, dad had to use an oar [the only thing he could find in the house] to dig a path to the shed just to get shovels. I think it took a week to dig out.
 
Hope it blows away or will take the 15 if I have to...

I just moved my doc appt from Friday to Thursday morning, will shop on the way home for everything dad or I might need for a week. I know his meds are fine, need to poke through his fridge & cabinets.


Praying mom & sis can stay holed up on the Cape without needing to go out Fri/Sat.

Looks like I'm right on the border of the 3"-6" to the 6"-12". I really hope they're over estimating this one.
