snow ****in'

HISTORICAL BLIZZARD POSSIBLE FRIDAY

Looking at recent guidance amounts are looking extremely high. This storm seriously with each run of the models is looking worse and worse for New England. I am extremely confident to say at least 24" of snow will fall with this storm through all of Southern New England except Southeastern MA. Believe over 3 feet of snow could fall in the Boston area, as far West as Springfield and as far South as Hartford, and as far North as Manchester NH. I have never seen a situation like this. Many of the younger folks will experience what the older folks experienced in the Blizzard of 78. Please make preparations before it is too late. During the height of the storm there could be snow coming down at 2"-4" of snow per hour, with thunder and major blowing and drifting. I will keep everyone posted on the storm as we get closer. ~ Stephen Boyle

Looks like I'm too far south for the kids to get any fun snow in which to play.
Only 1 snowman this year, no sledding yet.

Good luck to all in the frozen NE. Glad you are preparing. Be safe.

Was half hoping I might get snowed in and have a chance to skip the hospital and have DD at home. 8 day countdown to due date.

OMg, Kerri & I are orange!!!!! :faint:

Joan is red? Holy ****!

I think I may need to stay the hell out of this thread for the next 48 hours or so. :surrender:
:hides:

It's supposed to be worse in New England. How in the hell do they have my area in red? Someone screwed that up, RIGHT?!?!? :pms:

Sorry, but here is some of the latest:

The 0z NAM is in, and this is the one model that has consistently shown the least amount of snow for NYC metro while burying Boston, Rhode Island and Eastern CT in a paralyzing blizzard. It continues to show that tonight. This from our friend, Meteorologist Craig Allen: not sure why the nam is so stubborn. It is an outlier amongst the many others but it's latching on to something and refuses to let go. It again, is the lowest snow total solution for the NYC, western LI, west/central and southern NJ region. There is enough low level warming for liquid, especially along the coast. Handoff to the coastal storm continues to be delayed until off Cape Cod. We'll get several hours of blinding snow according to this but not prolonged enough for huge snow totals in the regions I mentioned above.

HOWEVER, eastern LI (esp the forks), eastern CT, RI and eastern MA get the snowballs kicked out of them by this latest model run.
If true, they'll need to stock up on bread and milk in the fridge for days- if they have power. Wow.

Darling you re SO NOT here, you're in FL. :fart:

Signed,
I still love you my gay man. :flowers:

That's ok. Kerri, ennui & I aren't "here" either.

I still think Steve needs to stay out of these weather ****ing threads. Yes, that was a lovely pep talk but I'm still not buying it.

Oops. Yes, typo. You are 1,346 miles outside the red zone. Sleep in peace tonight, Joan.

Can you translate that for me please. Are they saying NY is gonna be screwed or not?

I'm north west of NYC.

(I'm really not looking forward to the answer.)

Me again.

This was posted on my local paper website.

"As of 7:30 p.m., Accuweather was predicting snow totals between 3 and 6 inches for much of the area. But the storm watch issued by the National Weather Service warns of possible accumulation between 10-18 inches with a quarter-inch of ice. The storm may also bring sustained 15- to 25-mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph and coastal flooding, according to the storm watch."

Well somebody obviously made this prediction by throwing darts, right? WTH? Waiting for the weather forecast on the 10pm news. Seems that they're saving it for later than usual. ****s.

I'd better get two bunches of bananas, just in case.

Joan, I think you will have more snow rather than less. That is from the models I see now. There is 36 hours until the event. I am thinking like 16 inches or so for you.

On a lighter note, my DH bought 6 bananas. I hope that is enough considering we usually let them turn brown and toss them in the freezer.

I want to go on record that my "thanks" for Kerri's last post is for the banana humor, not the prediction.

Just watched the forecast on the local fox station. Guy gave so many excuses why the prediction could probably change that it seemed silly. Once they put up the map, it looks like I'm in the 12"-16" range. But he did throw in the bit of hope that if the weather got a bit warmer, there could be lots of rain.

Come on Global Warming!!!!!

so I guess with all of this snow you all can make a penis snow sculpture that will be taller than the 8 ft one in Wisconsin recently :9:

Ooooohhhhh....salami, ennui. You are livin' large this weekend.

Must be an east coast comfort food. DD19 & I ran into a Walgreens in MI yesterday. She needed bread & salt. Bread must be a MI snow comfort food because the shelves were bare. Since she ended up coming home today, so I am glad I didn't buy a $3 loaf of white bread. :surrender:

BTDT, back in college.

Almost don't need my morning cup of coffee as JC Monahan just said the Cape will get 8 to 10 FEET. That did it, eyes wide open. The graphic behind her did read inches however.

Local TV news already has reporters stationed in Foxboro, talking about possible extended power outages. Foxboro has been screwed repeatedly by National Grid.

I was going to complain about my drive home last night until I saw all the posts in this thread and all of the snow you all are supposed to get.
