I'm sure this has been asked before, but does anyone know how to get dingy whites bright white again? DD14 inherited a very dingy all white HS softball uniform. The pants are white with a thick red stripe of the same poly-blend material down the leg & the shirt is white with red appliqued logo/number, so I am hesitant to bleach them.

I need the uniform shiny clean by Monday.

Why do coaches pick white pants for girls? At any given moment 1/2 of them are sure to be bleeding. It's just one more thing to be concerned with. :surrender: Girls sports pants/shorts should only be offered in black.
:gah:

OxiClean Powder does an amazing job. I soak it in my wash tub for 24 hrs and stains are gone!

When DS had to wear the white polyester pants for baseball I swore by Era...that was in the days before Oxi-Clean...I even wrote a poem...but all I can remember is the first line...

"It must have been a man or a masochist who decreed the Bennett Babe Ruth team should wear white polyester pants"...

Found another great use for vinegar.
Down here, there is mold and mildew on everything outside. The HOA makes you clean your driveway and sidewalks if they get too dark looking.

So.....I sprayed with bleach, used the pressure washer and waited for it to dry. BTW, it's blindingly white!

Now here comes the vinegar part. Today I will spray the driveway and walks with vinegar. The acidity of the vinegar kills and prevents any further growth of mold and mildew. Since cement is so porous, it absorbs and holds the vinegar, killing any spores for a good 6 -8 months or so.

So add that to your list of what vinegar is good for!!!

What am I thinking?

Pull up your **** pants!!

Reminds me of a toddler with a full load in his diaper.

I am thinking I wish I could have another baby. I thought I would feel "done" after my 4 boys and I don't. Wishful thinking I guess.

Was JUsT coming to give lots of thanks and praise that dh has finally agreed to go for#5...after literally years of tears/ anguish/ frustration. Feeling very loved since I know he is "fine"with our four but he has also finally realized how important this is to me. Will require a job change for him, and I am so thankful...
I totally feel your longing...Hugs to you

Hey dragonfly, is this your ds homework???? :giggles:

.

It sure could be! He was sick last Friday, so there wasn't a spelling test for me to look over this week. :p

DD8 colored me a lovely picture the other day. She's been working on her cursive, so she wrote at the bottom, all fancy, "I will not respect Mom."

:surrender:

5:40 am 1 ring phone call was NOT appreciated...... 5:45 am 1 ring phone call was bullshit. I am tired and cranky.... it will be a long day! Oh and it's inventory... 8 hours of unloading... yay! :sarcasm:

I walk into the house last night and DS meets me in the kitchen. "Mom I brought you home 2 new dogs don't be mad." Um ya we have a dog and I instantly thing great 2 more things to feed, clean up after, and take care of - Are you kidding me. (yes yes I know deep breath)

So I walk into the living room and there sits the 2 dogs. I think he did a fantastic job for his first time welding. They did these in Ag class and are made with recycled parts (pipe, screws). He was so proud and showed me all the tricks to getting them to stand level. Ok so I still don't know what the heck a plasma cutter is but it sounded really cool!!

Dishwasher tablets or Powder will get rid of the dinginess. It gets rid of ring around the collar and underarm sweat stains too. My mom used to use it on my brothers clothes

PRAYING that DH gets this temp job...we just cannot afford unemployment any longer...thanks to the sequester he will now lose 10% of his unemployment...between that and another cut we are losing $220 a month that we can't afford to lose!
