I can already tell, this is going to be one of "those days." Started with DD14 setting off the house alarm at 5:35am on our way out the door, discovered that animals got in the garbage, got home to DS6 crying about a cut on his thumb. You'd think it was going to fall off, but really it is a cut that is less than 1cm. Since then he has come out of his room with a headache, a stomach ache & a bloody tooth. If he thinks he's staying home from school today he needs to guess again. :surrender:

I'm having a hard time feeling sympathy for the homeowners on Plum Island whose homes are being slowly washed into the ocean in this & other recent storms. They are living within 50ft of the ocean, for gosh sakes. Roll out of bed and hit the beach before your eyes are even open distance. Million dollar views & sand under your toes.

You live that close to the awesome power of the ocean, you take your chances. Same as living in a flood plain.

I'd be thrilled living within a mile or ten of the beach. <sigh>

I'm pretty sure raising teenagers is going to put me in my grave earlier than I desire....

Earlier this week it was inappropriate images/web surfing on an iPod that he purchased without us knowing. This morning I found more than I bargained for when I went to flip over his mattress.

How about all the people down the Jersey shore and the Rockaways? Feel the same about them and their FEMA help after Sandy?
Big difference between a 100 year or unprecedented hurricane and a problem that gets worse with every high tide [twice/day] in every single nor'easter [which occur many times per year in the same location].

ETA: If you live in a FEMA flood area, you should buy flood insurance. If you live along the beach, you should do what you need to [install pilings, etc], to shore up your home.

Same issue with the people who live along the Mississippi. They get flooded out regularly, and yet the collective we still use our tax dollars for them to be able to continue to live there.

Just another example of your tax dollars at work.

Funny, But seriously, you have no idea how much easier the bullet is to deal with. I was doing smoothies with my blender until DH brought home the bullet and now I don't know how I lived without it. (I know I sound like the infomercial
Guy,lol.)

It's not even close to a blender to me. I would give up my microwave before I'd give this thing back. I swear I'm not selling Vitamix stock. :snort:

hey its natural

I have found surfing issues with my boys and even a few printed out images--but that's all ( well except for the LONG showers)

when we found sitting by the computer some pretty vulgar photos printed out and we asked ds #1 why

he replied why do you think??
lol

Val- he's a teenage boy, and unfortunately that's what they do- Sorry tho- I'm sure it's not very comical to you right now. :huggy:

Valerie, totally normal with teen boys.

MY DH keeps asking me what to get the boys for their birthdays, I keep saying vasectomy..........

I get that the looking at pictures and stuff is normal but finding 3 condoms (2 still in packages and 1 that appears to be used) isn't Okay with me.
