Question of the day ... will the mail come, or not?

We had no mail on Thursday, Friday or Saturday!??!!? I had put something out to be picked up on Thursday, brought it in Thursday at 6 and back out again Friday morning....at 5 p.m. Friday I finally took it to a mail box because no one came. NO mail on Saturday either.

I called the post office on Saturday and they took my name, address, number...... said someone from delivery would call me back.

Very uncool. Don't realize how much you expect something until it stops!

I am curious to hear how this turns out. We had an issue where we didn't get mail for almost a week. We called about it. Then our regular mailman showed up at the door and was really angry that we had called. Apparently, we were supposed to go around the neighborhood looking for him to ask about it. He was vaguely threatening about it too. We were concerned our mail would start going missing in retaliation. I was glad to move out of the area.

We have had missing mail days as well. I think the PO is cutting back on overtime for their carriers. My lady is really good, her occasional subs, not so much.

We have always had issues with our mail here. I have had rebates, free Coke coupons, and lots of magazines go missing. I called about it once but it didn't seem to make things any better so I didn't bother calling again.

Our problem is that our address is 204 XXX and there are at least 4-6 other 204 XXX addresses in our subdivision.

I will often get the mail for all the other 204 addresses in our subdivision and I assume they are getting my mail as well. I was only getting 1 out of 3 Good Housekeeping, 1 out of 4 TV Guides, and I know several of my free Coke coupons went missing. DH didn't get a Menards rebate a couple times but luckily they were small ones. I'd be willing to bet that one of the other neighbors took the postcard to Menards and just spent it. If I get someone else's mail, I just stick it back in the mailbox and put the flag up but it seems like others don't always do the same.

It kind of sucks but we've learned to live with it.

Our regular mailman is friendly and very good, some of his substitutes not so much.

Dekalb has had "issues" with several carriers the last few years. Lots of subs and splitting of routes.

I understand that I wouldnt have the mail by this hour today.

And I definitely could understand maybe missing one day due to cutting overtime....

However, seems like you'd have each neighborhood miss one day vs. the same neighborhood miss several days. What about people who rely on paper checks or need to pay bills, or what if I were waiting for coupons, etc.

It has been 4+ days since mail was delivered. Never got our grocery ads for this week, and who knows what else.

Our regular mailman is nice, he used to wave at me while I was running and he mentioned seeing me running to DH, I dont think DH liked that much. but we've had many substitutes recently.

We had a crappy mailman for a while. Didn't seem to pay attention to house #'s. :duh: The guy we've had for a while now is really good. I haven't gotten any mail for my neighbors in quite a while.

It's such a beautiful day toda! :bliss: Sunny and close to 50! I took a look at the 10 day forecast and there's nothing about snow. I'm cautiously optimistic that we may not need the shovels for the rest of this season.

Joanmarie... hopefully it won't come your way BUT,... we in Illinois are being threatened with a snow storm of 6-8 inches by tomorrow evening. In case anyone else is wondering... I bought my storm bananas :)

Don't ever forget that you only get one chance to make a GOOD first impression.

Just took DD1 to someone new for her 18-month photos, what a disaster.

Trying very hard to remember being upset does not help anything or anyone. All week I have fought with the urge to be angry, resentful, and am fighting a hatred I can not even describe. Its making me feel miserable and I'm trying to work through it.

I'm not sure how as a mom I'm supposed to just overlook and forgive. The consequences of ex's actions that day are going to cause ds a lifetime of issues. Finding out this past week the situation has gotten worse and it does not look like they can reverse it is not helping. I wish someone would scream at him you idiot do you realize what you have done!!! Doubt he would give a rats tail about it.

I have been repeating all week "God please give me the strength to deal with this situation and help ds find comfort. Help me to remember anger and frustration will not help. And please God let me find a way to make this all work."

Oh Missy- I am sorry to hear Ex is still being such an ****.

Remember that the energy you put into negitive feelings towards him only use up your energy. Focus on yourself and DS as much as possible.

Hugs and prayers to you and DS

Lauri I am trying so hard to remember that. Seeing ds struggle to come to terms with a medical issue we aren't sure can be fixed is hard. Especially when it didn't have to happen.

my mail lady is awesome!! our mailbox is attached to our house so we have 1-1 contact with her alot (especially in the summer) i make sure to give her a gift at chirstmas. We can always tell when she has the day off, or is on a different route
