snow ****in'

Careful Steve, or ennui, Kerri & I will show up at your doorstep when you least expect it.
(You'll be safe for a while - nobody's getting out of any airport here for quite some time.)

I'm freakin' exhausted. :surrender: So help Cookie if she starts asking for snow again. :tap:

..............that need the wallpaper stripped off!!!!!! works for us!!

Not only did the governor ban all but critical drivers/services from being on the road after 4pm today, he also urged parents to keep their kids inside until after the roads are re-opened. He didn't want unnecessary ambulance trips transporting kids who got hurt playing outside.

Local tv stations have been running non-stop snow coverage, they dumped regular programming, and triple teamed their meteorologists.

For the curious, the 2 major power companies outage maps:

Almost all of the local stations, especially WHDH, have kept a reporter in Foxboro, esp WHDH, coming down there like crazy. I'm just a short hop away.

Ok, I'm starting to get nervous. The gigantic wild cherry tree that is 20 ft from my front door is now bending down and touching my front steps. OMFG.

i'm not going out to even try to shake it loose because it's too dark to see if its tangled up in my power & phone lines. Hope to hell it doesn't come crashing down on the house or the snow blower.

Crap! Definitely don't go out there and mess with the tree ennui! Stay safe.

Has anyone heard from Kerri (kaeg) recently? Haven't seen any posts from her here or on FB all afternoon/evening.

I just posted on Kerri's FB page - will let you guys know if she replies.

I'm signing off for a while. I'm still pooped from all that shoveling. :surrender:

Keep a flashlight close to your bed, could need it in the night.

Stay safe, stay warm.

Haven't heard from Kerri.

I'm going to try to sleep on the couch, not much else to do now but worry, so sleep is good. Tomorrow is going to be a very long day.

Good luck Joan & Kerri, please stay safe.

Thanks Joan and Ennui! Lots have lost power around us. We do have power but we probably won't for long. It's windy with sustained gusts at gale force winds. We spent a while outside clearing the driveway and the deck and path for the dogs. It is really, really bad. The wind sounds like it will take my roof and just now some big limb has fallen in the front yard. We are getting a good 3 inches an hour. We are also down to one banana which is odd cause we never eat the **** things.

Couldn't sleep, shoveled off just the top step so I can open my screen door. It was already over that, about 11" & coming down a few inches an hour now.

Will keep doing that if I wake up later, until the power goes out.

The wind is howling too.

Well, if this is the only bad thing that happens, I will be happy. I made some minute rice because the lights are flickering and dd wanted something quick. I sliced the freaking top off my finger with a butter knife because I was cutting butter from the stick in my hand. FYI, butter knifes do cut and hurt worse than a regular knife.

Dammit Kerri - you need to be careful inside and outside of the house!
:flowers:

Will move the flashlight/lantern thingie to my nightstand before I go to bed. Winds are still very light here and the snow seems to have lightened up just a bit.

The bush in front of one of the downstairs windows looks like a cotton tree right now. :giggles:

Gave dad several flashlights to keep on both nightstands, keeping one in my pocket at all times tonight.

This was the view out my front door. That's the snow blower under the green tarp, and the huge cherry tree's branch coming in on the right.
