Cookie recipes w/photos

Cookie does the filling in the thumbprint cookies firm up? I think your Christmas checkerboard cookies are much prettier. :)

Yes, it does... as long as you get the proportions right, the chocolate firms up just fine :stretch:

Yuck on the sweet potatoes too :giggles:

WTH is wrong with you? I have them in the oven right now. I make them with onions, a little margarine and Philly creme cheese. Mash everything together and pop in the oven until it gets a little browned on top. Yummy goodness I tell ya.

lots of things, apparently :stretch:

LOL... the cream cheese would REALLY gross out DH.... he is violently anti- cream cheese... and lots of other cheeses

Oh I am looking for a recipe, maybe you guys can help. Its made with a spritx like dough and put through a cookie press with the ribbon disc. In the middle is an andes mint or hersheys piece and another layer is on top and they are sealed together and baked.

Ringing any bells??

I've seen a cookie where you wrap it around the Andie's candy but never put through a machine. I'd like to know too what those are called.

I don't think I've seen those, but sounds like just long ribbon spritz strips (length of the cookie sheet), put the candies on top (space them out) then squirt another layer of the ribbon dough on top then score them lightly with a sharp knife and bake. :9:

YES ,THIS IS WHAT I REMEMBER DOING. THEY ARE SO GOOD.

OMG HERE IT IS!

Hershey Bar Cookies
1 c butter
¾ c sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
2 ½ c flour
½ tsp salt

Cream the butter and sugar. Blend in the egg and vanilla. Sift and mix in the flour and salt. Pre-heat the oven to 375*. Press dough through the saw tooth plate of a cookie press into stripes the length of an ungreased cookie sheet. Take squares of hershey bars and place ~ 1†apart along the strip of dough. Press another strip of dough over this, covering the first strip and chocolate completely. Sprinkle decors, colored sugars, etc., over the strips as desired.
Bake at 375* until the edges barely begin to brown, or about 10-12 minutes. As soon as you take the cookies out of the oven, cut between the pieces of candy and remove cookies from sheets. Makes ~5 dozen cookies.

HERE IS A PICTURE OF HOW IT SHOULD LOOK. MINUS THE FOOD COLORING THAT IS UN-NECESSARY.
