What is the best sporting event that you have ever attended?

For me it would have to be my city's soccer team (Wellington Phoenix) making the playoffs and going to the stadium to watch two of the playoff games. Watching my team win along in a stadium packed with over 30 000 fans was absolutely amazing. I will never forget those matches.
 
My local team Bradford City beating Liverpool on the final day of the season to stay in the Premier League. It's not the "biggest" event that I've attended but certainly the one that means the most and the event that I'll never forget.
 
Mexico vs USA Gold Cup final this past June. Mexico was down 2-0. I had lost hope and was thinking there is no way Mexico can catch up and tie. Mexico scored 4 unanswered goals and ended up winning 4-2.:D And I got to see this goal live.

It wasn't about the game for me, but about the experience. I once had the privilege to watch a Sabres game from the suite level. I had all the wings, drinks, burgers, and food to eat while watching the game from an amazing view. That was the best game ever for me.

Beating Bradford. Happens most times our two teams play ;)

(My team and Bradford are rivals, we are roughly 10 miles away and have had some battles in the past)

My favourite memories:

Winning at Wembley to get promoted
Winning at Millennium Stadium to again be promoted
Beating hated rivals Leeds United at their spot 2-1 with a last minute goal
 
Mine was a tennis tournament that was held in my city. It was played indoors and on a carpet surface. I got to watch 2 matches with some great players. Best part is, since there were a couple of VIP seats available, me and my dad sneaked into there and got to watch the match from front row seats. Sweet!

If you guys have never experienced a soccer game in Europe, then you have not lived life. Everybody in the world should experience that once in their lives. Its unlike anything you can think of.
 
Saints @ Seahawks in the 2011 Playoffs. I was a huge fan of both teams so I just got to sit back and enjoy the game. Marshawn's run was INSANE in the stadium. The place went nuts.
 
I have been to a lot but there is nothing like seeing 35,000 fans in the Carrier Dome for a Syracuse Basketball game.
 
In 2003 or 2004 I went to the Huntsman Center and saw the Utes beat the #1 (at the time) Alabama Crimson Tide led by Mo Williams. It was loud, a great environment and the team played great, knocking them off. I remember as the final buzzer sounded everyone just went nuts. It was truly fantastic.
 
Soccer matches are so loud. Especially during the vuvuzela periods. Man without covering your ears, you are prone to go deaf. Such a loud atmosphere.

It was a 2-2 draw ;)

Right decision. He'd been speaking to other clubs behind Hoyles back (it'll never be announced but we'd caught him speaking to both Leeds and Wolves without our permission).

We had been awful for 3 months, that stupid 43 game unbeaten run had gone to his head and the ego had landed. We've drawn like 13 games 11 from WINNING positions (they never mention that in the press), football well what resembled football was awful. A lot of unhappy players had lost a lot of respect for him.

Forgot the hype about him , he'd lost the plot. Most HTFC agreed with the decision. For once I'm looking forward to a home match!

How's Bradford doing? Good win at the weekend (spoiled my accy though :p )
 
Earlier this year the european basketball championship was setting off in my city, I went to see the first game (Lithuania - Turkey). The game took place in the brand new sports arena so it was worth the money not only for the game but to see how the new arena was set up. As expected, the place was crowded, it's good that we got some decent seats (expensive ones though). The game was awesome too (we won :) ) Too bad the championship turned out to be a disaster for my basketball-worshipping country.

Aston Villa 3 Manchester United 1

Was a tactical triumph by Villa who were the underdogs and stopped United getting the treble that year.
 
The greatest sporting event I have attended was the 1997 FA Cup final between Chelsea and Middlesborough. My whole family is Chelsea, dating back to the founding of the club in 1995. We hadn't won a trophy for over 20 years before this. I was 10 at the time and winning the FA Cup at Wembley was the happiest day of my childhood.
