What is the best sporting event that you have ever attended?

The best sporting event I've ever gone to, and also the best game I've ever seen had to be Indiana University's win over #1 ranked Kentucky at Assembly Hall. The place erupted like nothing I had ever experienced before. I was literally in shock, and I immediately grabbed my (now ex) girlfriend, picked her up, and started jumping up and down screaming. To those of you unaware of what I'm talking about, here's a clip.

Beating Bradford. Happens most times our two teams play

(My team and Bradford are rivals, we are roughly 10 miles away and have had some battles in the past)

My favourite memories:

Winning at Wembley to get promoted
Winning at Millennium Stadium to again be promoted
Beating hated rivals Leeds United at their spot 2-1 with a last minute goal

Why have you copied my post directly for?? I bet you don't even know where Bradford is or Leeds. How bizarre , can you not think of anything original to say. Can't be that hard surely. Now I know why Americans take the mick out of Canadians !!

Watching Roger Federer play in Australia where he played a relatively unknown French player. I now know why they call him the Maestro, he has inspired me to chase greater heights in my tennis game today. Every shot he hits is precise, like the stroke of a brush. He pays so much attention to detail in his game, it really is no surprise why he is so successful.

Best wrestling event I ever attended was Wrestlemania 25 in Houston, TX
The best match of that night; the first showdown between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels
I lost my voice that night.

When I saw Lebron James and the Cavs vs the Knicks. This was his first year in the league. It was such a great game. I also was in Cleveland at the time so I saw it there. First time ever at the arena.

Too many to name....and hard to just choose one. The most recent one? Probably 2010 BYU-UNLV basketball game at UNLV when Jimmer Fredette hit up UNLV for 40+. You had the UNLV fans booing him like crazy every time he touched the ball, but by the end all of the UNLV fans were in awe.

Actually, I have two of them. The first one was at the old County Stadium back in 1982 to watch a nail biter game 5 of the ALCS when the Milwaukee Brewers beat the then California Angels for going into the World Series. That was great seeing Robin Yount taken the ground ball and throw it to first base for the last out. Then some of the fans stormed the field.

The second one was a high school basketball game. It was the sectional finals between Milwaukee Tech vs. Racine Horlick. Horlick was up but one with seconds to go and Tech had the ball and frantically tried to make a basket to win the game, but then the time ran out and the fans for Horlick was celebrating thinking that there team had won by a point and long and behold a whisle had blown just as time ran out and the referee was at the scoring table and was determining if the it was a one on one shot foul or two shot foul (free throws that is). Then it was determined it was player from Tech was awarded two shots at the free throw line. The Tech player made both shots and Tech ended winning by one to go to the State Tournament. The Tech player that made those shots was mobbed by his teammate in celebration and the fans from Horlick just stood there in shock.

Super Bowl in New Orleans between the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots in January 1997 was my favorite sporting event. That game was amazing. We had such a great time. The final score was the New England Patriots 21 and the Green Bay Packers 35. I have such great memories of that game.

I went to a really great saints game at the superdome. I don't even remember who they were playing but the atmosphere, the fans, and event itself was so much fun I remember it above all the other sporting events that I have attended.

Saints @ Seahawks - Wildcard Playoffs 2011

The Stadium went NUTS on Lynch's beastmode run. I was cheering for both teams, the Saints and Seahawks are really a 1a and 1b for me. I was going nuts too. It was a bittersweet feeling, because I love both teams, but I knew it would be like that going into it.

For me it would have to be my city's soccer team (Wellington Phoenix) making the playoffs and going to the stadium to watch two of the playoff games. Watching my team win along in a stadium packed with over 30 000 fans was absolutely amazing. I will never forget those matches.

I am not a true baseball fan, however I was breathless when I went to Shea Stadium in New York for a Yankees game. I don't recall who else was playing, but I do remember the great guy I went with who told me so much about each player and all the moves too. I will always think that was the best sporting event I attended.

Going to season opening game for the Canucks vs. Calgary Flames would be the best sporting event I've ever been to. Granted that I haven't been to many, but this was opening season, and we won with a whopping 6-0!
