What's new

What color is your laundry room?

I know I posted a pic a while back of some Christmas cookies I made that were sitting on the countertop. I tried searching before with no luck. I'll try again later or will take some new ones.

Right now the cabinets are a minty green and the walls are blue - not quite as deep as the blue Canadia posted but similar.

Found the countertop pic I was thinking of - you can see the minty green the walls are now.

Well I did it, Im almost finished (well almost)! Alot of hard work by myself while DH was at work. I retiled the floors with peel and stick vinyl tiles, cut sanded primed and painted shelves, primed and painted the walls, painted the trim, learned how to use the miter saw and made an ana-white laundry sorter. DH helped me with the shelves today. Still have to hang a shelf thats drying over the laundry sorter and am going to get the rod brackets so i can hang a rod to hang clothes to dry! Now to do the little stuff like find things to put on the shelves, and figure out where to hang my laundry sign! Im pretty happy with it, the room is much happier now. Its amazing whay color can do! Now I wanted to find a cheap light at restore, goodwill, or craigslist that I can either redo by spray painting like a chandelier, or something cheap I can get at lowes with my $10 coupons. I was supposed to pick up a free light today on craigslist, guy said it was mine and when to come but never replied back with an address. Suppose he gave it away to someone else. Anyways.....

Before (blah)

After (happier)

Had to cut a half circle for the dryer vent hose, this is what prevented me from getting cabinets! Brackets were extras my parents had that i spray painted black.

NICE work!! :hiphip: I especially love the laundry sorter. Did you use some kind of pettern or template for that?

She has a lot of awesome things!
Me and DH also made a stool from her site because I needed one to fit for a desk I refinished that I got on Craigslist for free!

Her instructions are great! Someday when we can afford the wood I'm dying to make one of the farmhouse dining room tables!

I'd love to see pictures after you have finished building it!! Have you made anything else from her site yet?

Thanks everyone for the compliments! Ive been doing laundry all morning since I haven't been able to for a week, and I didn't mind doing it! What I'm thankful for is it was a cheap redo, all I actually paid for was the paint and the laundry baskets from target. Everything else came from my parents garage or ours! There's no way we could have purchased everything otherwise! I think it came together well!

I built a king sized farmhouse headboard based on the plan on her website, which I screwed up the finishing, so it's sitting in the garage. I may paint it with darker color to hide all the stain blotches.

I am building the carcass of kitchen cabinets based on her plan right now. I have HD guy ripped the plywood and a neighbor and DH helped to crosscut them to right sizes. I drilled all the pocket holes last week and put together 4 of the boxes on Thursday.

Only 3 shown in the pictures because the other one is at the other corner of living room. I am waiting for the drywall guy to finish his work, so I could paint the kitchen wall and have more space to store this carcass.

My niece made the farmhouse table and the patio table with built in coolers. She lives in Seattle, so I have only seen pictures, but they look really nice!

Awesome! Can't wait to see when your finished!

Tmela, did you go to Ana's book signing at HD?

I was dying to go (so I could get a free copy of her book), but it's just too far for me to drive out there.

No! I wanted to as well but it's also a drive and DH doesn't get off til 5, so by time he cleaned up (hes a mechanic) and we got there who knows how the line would have been. Wish it would have been on the weekend and not in the middle of the week!

Tammy :)
