I have been seeing all these pictures on pinterest and online of cute laundry rooms painted in bright colors or just any color at all! My laundry room right now is basically a washer and dryer with white walls/white ceiling and a couple wire shelfs. Thought maybe if I painted it a fun color it might make doing laundry alittle more enjoyable.

I have some leftover bright blue paint that i have in our half bath on the bottom half of the wall with chair rail but am not sure if i used it to paint a whole room if it would be too overwhelming. I just made a wood distressed black/white laundry room sign yesterday (in picture next to the blue paint in bathroom) I want to hang up, thought maybe I could find some cheap white wood shelfs instead of the wire ones since I can't stand when things fall between those. I'd love to put cabinets but can't afford them, been looking for ones cheap on Craigslist I could paint white but haven't had any luck.

So I was curious what color is your laundry room? Is it cute and happy or sad and dreadful like mine.....Got any pictures to show it off?

Paneling... it is so inspiring said NO ONE.. EVER

Then again... My whole house has 4 walls that do not have paneling. If I could re-do this house, Oh how I would change it!

Is Basement a color? if not they should make one, jking. I have white basement walls in my laundry...very boring.

Washer and dryer in an unfinished basement. No fun colors over here. :pout:

Cream... But it is also our entry from the garage. Boring... I did put some black shelves with a dry erase calendar and a pin board but we don't use it and it doesn't look as good as I was envisioning.

Laundry room is dh work room too--so BORING
However, if you think it would be too over whelming with one color---sponge paint or rag roll it--would add contrast-and with your nice sign--could look very cute!!

It's light sky blue. But it can't actually be called a room. It's more of an entryway to a half bath. Half bath is also the same color.

Tan with white trim and white cabinets. Kind of boring.

I love the sign you made - great job!!!! I think your laundry room would look great with blue walls.

ETA -how did you make your sign????

Washer and dryer are in unfinished basement that I just painted the floor with epoxy paint few weeks ago. I want to spruce up the space a bit since I spent considerable amount of time down there doing laundry. However, I just torn down a wall and removed particle board subfloor on the first floor, the laundry room probably has to wait. :-)

Mine is a sunshiny yellow. DH thought I was nuts when I asked him to paint it but I like it. My family room and kitchen are a lighter tan/yellow color- sort of peanut buttery so the yellow in the laundry room compliments but does not overwhelm as it might in the main living areas.

Dh re-did the laundry room for me a couple of years ago. It is painted peach with a laundry themed border on the top. I have ceramic tile that matches. Dh put a big cabinet in for all sorts of stuff. There are oak and brass hooks on one wall for everyones coats. Theres a shoe cubby that holds like 30 pairs of shoes and there is a large cork board for me to put up school papers and such. I also put some decorations on the walls. We also put a window in last year so there's lots of light.

The walls are "Damp" and the ceiling is "Cobweb". Two very popular shades

My W&D are in our creepy unfinished basement!

:shesaid:

Although my basement isn't really that creepy but it is furnished in the Early American Box Maze theme.

Ours too :lol::lol::lol:

I walk through there and think no way in hell am I ever moving :giggles:

Although I want to move very badly

Institutional green (sort of a lime sherbet color) with falling down wallpaper in a brown-leaves pattern...commercial grade grey & white speckled floor tile...same as when I moved in 28 years ago...same as when DH moved in a few years before...not high on my home decor priority list...

Thanks for all the replies!!!

My DH got me a circuit a couple years ago for Christmas for pretty cheap. We were looking for wall art for our blank walls, then I realized I could make it just as cheap! So I started up. Basically just use scrap wood, or occasionally my DH will bring me home some barn wood from someone at work. I use contact shelf liner in white and transparent and use cheap (usually michales brand craftsmart) acrylic paints when they go on sale cheap. I use a reverse stencil way for the words. So I'll paint my board whatever color I want the letters do be, then put on my stencil and paint over a few times whatever background color I want then take off the stencil. Then sand down to distress and clear coat to protect. It's actually really easy.
I started making them for all the holidays, rooms, lots for gifts, and have started selling some as well. Helps out since I am not working!

I wish I had a laundry room. Laundry "closet" upstairs :(
That is one thing I'm thankful for, we live in a small townhome so the laundry room is upstairs.....actually right off of the stairs going up which is also why I'm alittle afraid to do a bold color because if the door is left open it's the first thing you see from downstairs.

This made me seriously LOL! Ours is in our totally unfinished basement right when you come down the stairs. We have talked about putting up walls but we have a small place so to do so would just make it smaller.

Oh man, i'm still giggling.

I am going to try to attach some pics. My laundry room is super bright green with matching bright green cabinets I got at IKEA. I used to have drab white and I can't even describe how much happier I am walking in that room now. Even when it's messy - like now - I enjoy being in there.
