just watched as the kid behind us hopped the fence and stole my sons ball. All 5 kids are home today from school (mom is at work). It's a 6 ft fence. Was he surprised when i confronted him and asked if he stole it, and then he returned it and i told him not to take things that don't belong to him.

This house was a flipper house thats now rented. They always leave the back door wide open (no storm door)

But this does not top the time the 2 older kids came over, rang the doorbell and asked for the password to our wifi so they could do their homework.....don't think so buddy. (we also live 1 block from the library)

I can't believe he came over your fence! That's pretty ballsy. Then again, I could totally see DS6 doing that, since he came home from school with a ball once.

It's official - Lex has the weirdest cold ever.

I think he's making up for the weekend. So far today he's had two bowls of cereal, an apple, a banana, a cup of canned pears, chicken nuggets, sweet potato chips, a soy-nut butter sandwich and three cups of water/juice. Now he just went upstairs with a handful of pretzels. You'd think with all of those carbs he wouldn't be hungry.

Hmm, maybe I should be thinking growth spurt in combination with this cold.

Art Institute with a 1, 2 and 4 year old? Not fair to them or the other people at the Art Institute. We do often do things as a whole family, but it needs to be appropriate for all ages.

Took my oldest to the AA from when he was an infant. This was back in the days of City Pass, it included the AA, Shedd, Adler, Field, and MSciI. Something else too, I can't recall. Oh, the Hancock Observatory.

I know the logistics are rougher with more than one kid but you can always leave.

Anyway my point was the AA is DEFINITELY not inappropriate for infants or toddlers so long as you control them and leave when they are "done." Big still talks about it - his favorite was the contemporary room. He would stand there, like, all day, staring at paintings. Ba-ba and saggy diaper. Smoo <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 :bliss: Are my very favorite memories of when he was little...

PS - Middle kid NEVER EVER EVER got to go into the city with me after the first time, he was a total misbehaving ****. Outrageously so. Forever after, he got to stay, brokenhearted, with a babysitter while I took Baby and Big to those places.

How is it that a serious deep clean of the bathrooms can make your whole house smell freshly cleaned? The rest of the house is its usual disorganized dusty chaos, but, well, I feel like I accomplished something today.

And it is the small things in life that can destroy a good day.

Found out why Lex was "eating" so much today. He was picking at it and then throwing what he didn't want in the garbage. He'd come and tell me that he was done, show me the empty plate and ask for something else.

:gah:

just want to get well...have a serious work mtg. Wed. and need to be on top of things! DH has an interview wed. and hoping it goes well! crossing my fingers.

I started watching a movie with DH that is way to scary and bloody for me. It started out cute- with a young Dakota Fanning and Denzel Washington. Now I am trying to "unthink" it and get rid of the images in my mind so I can sleep. Ugh- I should know better!

I have a running joke about coming from "High class white trash" rather than "lower middle class".

Today I have proof.

My niece, out snowmobiling.

There there is a minor accident (don't worry, my niece is OK).

So instead of moving to a safe distance they stand around, watch it burn and take pictures. And then, they get even closer

Yep, high class white trash. At least my brother is handling it well. "I don't think I can fix it".

Duh, ya think?

37 degrees, the sun was shining, and the snow was melting this afternoon. Late afternoon we got light rain. Tonight it changed to snow :surrender: sigh. I was starting to enjoy the spring like weather
