GRRR! The new boss is a real PITA! NOW they are gonna tell me how to make my hours and how many hours I can have....no ****in' way...I have done everything you have asked me to do and I want my 40 hrs. I simply can't afford to have 35....why make an issue now when i've been doing it for so long now! GRRRRR.

1 of my cats can't use it. As a kitten some nasty kids dunked him (and his brother) in a 5 gallon bucket of water. And they both have some nerve damage.
His name is Wobbles and he can't walk a stright line, falls over alot, and can't stand in litter box. He goes on newspapers next to litter box...then comes and cries until someone cleans it up.
Even my cat has issues!
WE thought it was WAY WAY too raunchy, not funny, and not even cute.
Gross actually....
didn't even finish it.
We watched the theatrical version. WOW...that is pushing the word "theatrical" I think.

That would be the kicker to the curb for me.
It was definitely a sleet storm last night. There was a pile of little ice balls at the bottom of my windshield this morning. We're expecting some sort of snow/rain mix tomorrow morning.
Feeling very sad for my girlfriend, the one who broke her leg and have to have surgery. She just found out that her work, she's been there 5 months will not allow her to stay off work with her Dr.'s note and hold her job, they said according to the law they only have to hold her job if she's been there over a year. By the way she interned there for 18 months before she graduated, I can see the depression starting. Anyone know if there's anything she can do???
It's a really grey area, but generally speaking she may be entitled to FMLA even though her internship hours were unpaid. Internships get muddy because there is a 6 prong test that has to be met to prove that she was a true intern and not an unpaid employee
It's a sticky wicket because the courts often find companies in violation of the FLSA if they don't meet the 6 prong test and "interns" end up with "back pay". If she's going to lose her job anyway she may as well fight. First she needs to figure out how many hours she's worked in the last 12 months that she's been paid for including during the time she was an intern. If she has actually been paid for the 1,250 hours in the last 12 months including her internship it is an easier case to make. If not, she's still got options. And she has nothing to lose. If they are going to fire her anyway she should file a complaint because its free, because it scares some employers and because although the back log goes on for miles, she could prevail in the end.
Also, did she receive college credits for her internship??

Wow, thank you for all the info!!!!! I will be talking to her later today to get all the details and pass on the information you gave me. You're right she may as well fight and make a stink if they're letting her go anyways.
