Shhh....don't tell Jill Cataldo we sell coupons here....

You all crack me up!

But back to the issue at hand, I am going to make a comment on my own experience with Jill Cataldo: I am one of those people who started with Jill back in early 2010 . I am very grateful for learning how to coupon and was simply amazed at her"black belt" deals. Of course, you all know that this is when you play the now non-existent"spread". Back then, I didn't feel she touted the "ethical cou phoning as much as she does now. How could she when clearly "black belting" is not what the manufacturers nor the stores had in mind when they set up these deals?

Anyway, I would say that as she became more of a national spokesperson for cou ponying she became much more the"ethical" couponer. ( especially when EC passed her up for their show at the beginning because she was not " extreme" enough.

So what is being "ethical" all about? It is her GIMMICK. She is the "ethical" couponer. In the beginning of 2011 her fans even began to take on a more "coupon police" attitude. I remember one post of a woman exclaiming how happy she was that she found a five dollar cat left in the machine by a previous customer at the u-scan. And do you know that she was probably chewed out by no fewer than ten people who called her a THIEF, dis honest and unethical. The poor woman actually wrote back in the forum to apologize and didn't realize how wrong she was. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? If I get a cat from a machine that wasn't mine, I am dancing in the street!

Needless to say, I quickly tired of this nonsense. The site really does not have the same tone as when I first started couponing. I soon found my way onto CW and have felt at home ever since!

To sum up I really do think the whole"ethical" thing is a gimmick. Well, the gimmick is not for me. I just want the deals!

I don't remember the thread but do remember her stating she turned them (EC) down. They invited she said no. Here I am reaching, but if I recall correctly, she said she wouldn't do it because (MY WORDS, NOT HERS!) it was going to make couponing look bad.

I'm telling you guys, even though you think you'll get more coupons because people will think you aren't allowed to buy them, I think once you put it out in the media that multiple coupons = fraud or illegal activity.

It will bite you and your friends right in the coupon ****.

I thought they 'strung her along' & told HER they didn't want her afterall. IDK.

I was like "Who the hell keeps registering as SuperJill?"
"Nobody mocks my cat! Well..except me when she isn't in earshot."

I don't doubt this. I do think there will be less competition, but I think this is going to start a really ugly mess here in the Chicago area at least where a lot of her minions are.

But as Monty Python would say, Always look on the bright side of life.

Think you guys are giving her too much power.

At least down here, throwing around her name at the store will have an other-than-intended effect. My Jewels & Doms are sick of the "Jills."

She's rebranding. That's all.

She's the media's dream. She does phone interviews, goes on the tv news, writes for the newspapers and now is a yes woman.

That is how we determine the keepers. If you can come back after we completely tear you apart, you get to stay. It's trial by fire. They end up here, post something stupid about "stealing" peelies and we crucify them.

We need them to come here. If we don't have hot deals we turn on each other. We need fresh meat occasionally.
