Yea I will be getting a PS3 once they are more available and I actually accumulate some more money. The earliest I can see getting it is next summer. I first want to get a HDTV for my room because people are always using the one we just bought for the living room.

I really like the Wii also, I think I will eventually buy it also. But these things cost allot of money with software and accessories so it will be a slow process.

true, but then if you have the money and the means then why ever not.

The ps3 will be a nice console even if it is abit ahead of itself.

I would like to try one as I've not had a chance of any of the new consoles other than the psp...which isn't so new anymore.

I know what you mean and I think the same way. I can't wait to try out the PS3 so far I have only seen one in a display case. The PSP has lost its newness about a year ago, but still a great system.

Indeed it is.

I've actually touched a ps3 chris ;)

*holds out hand* it's godly...lol!

but they do and apprently work very very well, the only problem is the price, a normal ps2 game costs me about 40 pounds when it's released and that price takes about 3 to 4 months for it to come down to even half and even then I have to buy a second hand game.

The price of a ps3 game will cost around 60 pounds, for one little disc?!?!?!?!?!?! I don't think so, not to mention the ps3 itself is like 300+ pounds.

It's about the graphics cards. A beefy graphics card would take some stress off the rpocessor, wouldn't it?
Yup, in theory. The point of a GPU is to take the graphics load of the CPU. As long as there's no major bottlenecks, things should work.

Exactly, they over hyped it and they bullshitted.
They did more than that, they deliberately scammed people, there never was a phantom console.

Lot's of Ram also.
RAM won't really help out the graphics end of things, It allows the program to run more smoothly, and it may end up helping you run up the resolution a few notches. RAM is all about running the programs themselves, not so much the graphics operations. In the end though, most graphics are carried by the GPU and the CPU. The three however, need to work in synch, which is why it's important to avoid bottlenecks in the system.

You're kidding right? 60£ for a PS3 game? That's over $120 Canadian. I think that we only have to pay about $70 here for a PS3 game. That's quite a premium there.

Nintendo owned November though. The DS and the Revolution sold a lot of units. Playstation what?

lol, I'm not kidding Black, everytime I looked I found that prices are going to be rocketing for ps3 games..

no wonder no one wants to buy one. That was why I asked several people if the ps3 was going to be compatible with ps1/2 games otherwise it'd be pretty useless to myself, as I don't have the money to be buying games that expensive.

haha true, I really do like the idea of having a Wii, but right now I'm going to go back and go to gamestation and buy lots of the old consoles for like a tenth of the price for my ickle room lol, I like the older generation of consoles, no idea why *sarcasm*

To be honest it really speaks for itself when it's called a ''phantom'' console :P

But still it'd be pretty **** amazing if there was something like that built, but then if you think that the ps3 was/is expensive enough...imagine what that would be like..

(psst I'm getting strange looks because I'm typing uber fast and looking out the window lol...clever girl me :P)

You touched a PS3 !!! Never wash your hands again Nightwolf ;). The price is crazy for all next gen games, the most I ever spent on a game was $60. That was for the special edition Halo 2, otherwise I paid under $50. Most of the games I have bought for my Xbox 360 cost nearly $60 and I find that upsetting.

The PS3 games cost so much because they are using the Blu-Ray disk, why the 360 games cost as much I don't understand. They use regular DVD's. Hopefully in time the price will return to normal. Or wait a few months and the price will drop naturally for the game.

Yea I am quite shocked, even if it was the real deal I feel they wouldn't of made it. I got to look it up and see what happened to the people that pulled this scam.

Well I was thinking the extra RAM would allow more people in online multiplayer. I am eagerly waiting the day that I can go online with a console and do a 64 player match. Maybe PS4 or the third generation Xbox? A pipe dream?
