PlayStation 3 Nets Fair Price in Auction

FFXII was released in North America on Halloween, and earlier in Japan. My buddy bought it and totally neglected to hand out candy that night, hehehe. I really do not envy the European gamers, they usually get the shaft right along with the Aussies, but at least Nintendo is doing their worldwide launch of the *shudder* Wii within a month it seems.

Tell me why in advanced they can't prepare for the demand?
Same reason they rush games out all the time. To meet the christmas season or to finally get it to market.

What happened to great games like sonic, mario etc?
Never fear, Mario is coming back. Hopefully by sometime next year we'll see him on the Wii.

I remember they wouldn't work right sometime and I would have to blow into the cartridges or the slot to get the thing to work.
Blowing into your cartridges is actually quite bad for them. Your saliva will begin to rust the metal terminals that transfer all the data, and eventually it'll just stop working altogether. Best bet is to use compressed air.

The only reason I want anything PlayStation is for Metal Gear Solid. Otherwise it can take a flying leap as far as I'm concerned. I'll stick with my PC and my Wii. Take that however you want :D

Thanks for the info on blowing into your games, Black. Compressed air. OK I will have to get some of that. I do hate the thought of paying for air but I guess it beats the alternative.

Mario is coming back, eh. I have still to complete any of his first games. O joy!

ahhh but i mean classic mario!

as for games...yes we get pushed to the back abit...which tends to annoy me...but it'll be worth the wait!

as for the cartirdges...i know it's bad...but tough XD

It figures, but if they start making them early this year they wouldn't have shortages like this. I think they only have 400k PS3's in America and none in Europe. Don't you think thats from poor judgment on Sony's part?

I still think they are driving up demand by purposely causing the shortages but many people don't think that. I just find it hard to believe that Sony and Microsoft was stupid enough to let shortages happen.

I never knew that, probably a can of compressed air would be better. Well I haven't owned anything that used a cartridge in years so I don't got to worry.

Well its good that you only like a few systems because buying all those systems at once can really empty your wallet. I dropped at least $820 on a Xbox 360 (Including games and accessories). It will be awhile before I buy a PS3 for obvious reasons.

I never considered Nintendo products after I wasted my money on a Gamecube, but the Wii has really captured my interest. I love that new motion controller they use, I seen the commercials of people playing Call of Duty with it and it looks sweet.

Also I like that Nintendo plans to make their classic games downloadable, would love to play that James Bond game they made for the N64.

As for PC I love it still, the graphics still can't be matched unless you got a HDTV and a Xbox 360 or PS3 and soon the PC will even surpass their capacity. Also online modes, you still can't play 32v32 games on a console.

But if you are a heavy gamer like me you need something really powerful, and trust me to get the best it cost me allot. Even with the best after two years I can tell its starting to show its age. Don't get me wrong it still works great but soon it will be outdated and I know it.

I tried to update the video card driver and it didn't install correctly so I ended up reformatting it. Thats the weak points of PC's. A console its good for 5-6 years, just put the disk in no problems most of the time. No adding more ram, no adding a new video card. Just play and enjoy.

But consoles are easily surpassed in terms of power. Consoles are for people who have no idea how to upgrade a computer. I could do it with my eyes closed. I may find myself at a loss of technological mumbo jumbo but I know what everything does and how to put it together and take it apart.

Yes I agree with you Nightshade, but if I update the computer myself I might void the warranty. I can probably order a newer video card from Dell but usually my computers do me well until they are old.

I spent $800 on the video card I am using now so it better be good for 4 years. Ram is much easier, you just push it into those long sockets on the motherboard. Video cards is a similar thing, but setting it up is what worries me.

The pure processing power of the consoles and their graphics cards can't be matched by a computer, except for possibly the Alienwares. Which cost 2500 each for anything worhtwhile.

Even the best flat panel LCD's can't compete with the most basic HDTV.

For fraphics, which games are all about, the computer can't compete.

For FUN and ease of use...

COmputer, hands down.

OK where can I get a copy of Luxor II without paying through the nose for the stupid thing?

Are you serious? Maybe now they can go toe to toe with a PC but in a few years computers will win again. Computer hardware constantly changes console hardware only changes every 4-6 years. Look at the Xbox, it was the most powerful console of its generation now it can't compare with a bargain basement PC in processing power.

Consoles are great, but they still can't do 32v32 online multiplayer like my computer can. I don't even think they have reached the 16v16 barrier.

You guys should come together and make your own console. A mix of PC technology and next gen technology. Wireless meets worldwide kind of thinig. It would blow PS3, XBox 360, and Wii out of the water!

Yea its a nice idea, but the price of such a machine would make the PS3 look cheap. Plus its been proven (At least recently) that small companies usually can't swim with the big boys on the deep end.

I remember the Phantom system, it was suppose to come out soon and the small company that was making them just disappeared. The system was revolutionary also, instead of using a disk to play the game you would download it directly to the machines hard drive.

With the losses that systems generate upon their debut. You would need serious investment.

Processing pwoer really doesn't matter all that much when it comes to game systems... well pure processing.

It's about the graphics cards. A beefy graphics card would take some stress off the rpocessor, wouldn't it?

Lot's of Ram also.

It happens all the time chris, how do you think they get so much hype.

It does sound like a good idea...but why buy that when you can have something already out.

That's the problem with being small, you think big and you can't get there.

Exactly thats the point I am getting at Nightwolf, its all for the hype.
