I just came back from seeing Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

I'm not going to give away any plots, but it was definitely a fun movie to watch. I liked both the first one and this one. You do have to see the first to understand a few things from the second, but overall, I think I liked the second one better. The special effects were good and it still had it's comic book quality. Even a little comedic walk-on role from Stan Lee.

I also saw Transformers this last week. That was also a very good movie. I have never really seen the Transformers cartoon nor really was into the toys. Though my nephews adore them. I like that the movie was not based on some sexual relationship somewhere and the movie focused more on the special effects and the war between the robots. The four good robots were a little goofy, but that's how they are in the cartoons and they were made to seem very kid/people friendly so they had to appear funny and hero-like. There were some sweet moments in the movie too between the robots and the humans. One thing I'd definitely warn about, don't let your kid see the movie. They really made the bad robots scary and if your kid is too young, he or she will be afraid. The effects are too real and they will most likely have nightmares from it. It would be better to rent the cartoon Transformers movie to keep them distracted from the current computer-generated, big-screen movie.

We re-watched the first four Harry Potter movies this week. Wookie is raring to go see the latest one (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), and wanted to be hyped and ready. We've ordered tickets for the Sunday matinee, hoping to avoid some of the long lines at our local movie theater.

The last movie I watched all the way through was A Bridge to Terabithia (rented from Netflix). I liked the concept, but was a bit disappointed in the actual execution. May have to read the book to get the flavor of the story.

Transformers. Never again will I feel they are a "toy I never played with as a kid." Ahh, they found a way into my heart.

I just watched two movies I had taped on my DVR. You, Me, and Dupree, and John Tucker Must Die.

Dupree, played by Owen Wilson, was a very sweet movie. It had it's funny moments, but you do find that though Dupree is a screw up in the beginning, he has quite a big heart and the movie becomes more of a heart warmer cute comedy rather than just a funny movie.

John Tucker Must Die, was a teen movie about revenge and it's consequences. Though I did see the little twist they put on it, I did find it less than believable. If a bunch of snobby girls did those things to a guy, he wouldn't really make the best of it and shrug it off, he'd get pissed off and react to it. Besides its unrealistic corniness, I did find the movie enjoyable to watch. It was still cute, and it had it's funny moments. It's not a movie I'd rent, it's more of a catch on TV type movie. I'll just leave it at that.

I liked You, Me, and Dupree better. It was more believable than John Tucker Must Die, but Ii'd recommend both movies since they both were fun to watch.

Against all rationale and sound advice, I watched Bubba Ho-tep last night.

I'm a big Bruce Campbell fan and I had missed that film. Now I know why.

Wow! Just... wow.

If anyone is interested, I'm organising a class-action lawsuit against all parties responsible for the production and distribution of that film. There's got to be a case for cruel and unusual punishment in there somewhere.

Last movie I seen in the theatres was Jumper. It was an okay movie, nothing special about it. Kinda hyped up if you ask me.

The one before that I seen 3 times in the theatre. John Rambo. It just got better and better each time I seen it. :D

Well, it wasn't in the theater, but I saw Elizabeth: The Golden Age at home. I loved it. I loved the first Elizabeth movie with Kate Blanchett, and I think this one was very well constructed and beautifully played. Two thumbs up!

In the theatre? Um....I think it was District Nine at the third-run place. Well worth the two dollars (total) we spent to see it
