What's new

It's a BOY! AND A GIRL For Dragonfly!!!!!!

Again Dragonfly, I don't know how you do it. You're wonderful parents. :flowers:

...and on another note.....

...I get distracted by "that too"!!! :giggles:

Bio's, temporary mom for a week or so, foster parents for 2.5 years, emergency foster mom for 4 months and us. So we're #5 in 4 years. They've now been in care longer than they were with their bio's.

A small thing that may work, but have you heard of the weighted therapy blankets? Been hearing more about them and thinking about making one for my son:-)

I worked in a kindergatern class for a year and there was a boy there who we offered his weighted vest to often--it helped him a lot!

I could use a weighted jacket-seriously. I tell dh all the time I need weight on me ( as in a heavier blanket not just a sheet) in order to fall asleep

Kinda like a Thundershirt for people.

The bio's did the most, but I don't think the long term people really did much to help them through things.

They call us mom & dad. Have since Day 1.

Just started following this thread and all I have to say is wow--if only there were more people in the world like you! God bless you and your family and may he give you the strength you need to finally give these children the family life they so deserve!

And I should thank you all for always listening to me about this. I can't **** like this to my DH because he will think I want to give up...he can't stand seeing me stressed, but sometimes I need him to say "keep going," not "this is too much for you," know what I mean? He's really been great about this. It wasn't his idea, but he came around and is 100 percent "in," but he will want to bail if he thinks I'm about to lose it. So it helps to talk to you guys.

I know exactly what you mean. Feel free to come here and talk about this. We've got your back!!

Most men dont understand the emotional side of parenting. My triplets Are 22 in college and I still parent. Most of the stuff is little stuff now but there are many talks that my husband doesnt involve himself with or would not understand. We are here always as a sounding board and putting it in writing helps to crystalize thoughts and feelings.

You know I have your back....oh wait, you got mine:flowers:....I thought the penis thing was hilarious. It remined me back in the day when we used our imagination when we played....he got distracted...oh lord.

I just have to giggle...not in a mean way....but anytime I hear someone say..."I got distracted"....I'm going to think of that!!!!
....Oh I'm sorry honey, I got distracted!!!! :snort:

Kids do the darnedest things!!!

This reminds how DD8 is learning to write in cursive. A couple weeks ago DD19 was watching them & she called me, all upset because DD8 wrote "penis" in a notebook and showed her, DD14, my brother & his girlfriend. They ALL thought it said "penis." I called DH (he was home working on the attic) and he said, "OMG! Overreact much! It says "punk!" The cursive & her "k" really looked like penis!
