Directly, money does not buy happiness. Psychologists say that if someone suddenly becomes rich, he or she will feel great at first, but after a while will be no more happy than they were beforehand.

However, I believe that indirectly in can make you happy. One example is say you want to quit a job that you hate but you can't because you need the money. Being rich would allow you to actually quit. Or say you hate working in general. You can stop and take a permanent vacation. And a third example is say you want to travel. Having tons of money makes a big difference in that department.

So yeah, being rich matters when it comes to happiness.

That's right, being rich can buy you happiness. At least some happiness.

It really depends on how much money you'd have at your disposal.

I often cringe when I see rich people spend vast amounts of money on useless stuff. They should create companies instead that employ people to help dampen the current economical crisis somewhat.

Some people who have more money than they know what to do with still are obsessed with making even more money. They don't realize that there comes a point when an enourmous amount of money is all you'll need and then some. More greenbacks on top of a massive amount of money is uneccessary.

Some people hoard their millions because they like what they percieve as power.

However, if your not enjoying your money, then how is that power? It's one less aspect of life that your missing out of. Depriving yourself unecessarily is not power.

If I suddenly became rich, I'd use the money for travel expenses, going out to fancy restaurants, and more.

However, having a nice house and car has never been anything I've cared about. My parents can't relate, as they like having nice things. But material possessions are at the low end of my wish list.

im gonna be honest. if i suddenly won the lottery and became wealthy stinkin rich, id totally buy material things.
if i didn't earn that money a normal, hard working way, i wouldn't save all of it, it blow it all off on things i want to entertain me. and it would make me happy every time id use my new toys~

Money is awesome. I love it. Love it.

That being said, this forum needs to get bigger.

It's pretty dead.

Cool look.

Could even get better with some traffic.

I believe money can make some people happy, yet money is the root of all evil.

I couldnt agree with you more on this....money gives you that instant gratification like buying something new, but in the long run if you arent happy within yourself no amount will ever make you happy

There was a man who had worked all of his life and had saved all of his money and was a real miser when it came to his money. He loved money more than just about anything. Just before he died, he said to his wife, "Now listen. When I die, I want you to take all my money and put it in the coffin with me. I want to take my money to the afterlife with me. He made her promise with all her heart that when he died, she would put all of the money in the coffin with him. Well, he died. He was stretched out in the coffin, his wife was sitting there in black, and her friend was sitting next to her. When they finished the ceremony, just before the undertakers got ready to close the coffin, the wife said, "Wait just a minute!' She had a box with her, she came over with the box and put it in the coffin. Then the undertakers locked the coffin down, and they took it away. So her friend said, I know you weren't fool enough to put all that money in there with your husband!" She said, "Listen, I'm a Christian. I can't go back on my word. I promised him that I was going to put that money in that coffin with him. "You mean to tell me you really put that money in the coffin with him!!!!? "I did," said the wife. "I wrote him a cheque."

it depend on you,
if you want money more than anything in this world than yes it can make you happy
but of course you won't be FULLY happy .
