Who here has a subscription to YouTube premium? For those not in the know, it's basically just a subscription to remove ads from YouTube. I have had a subscription for quite some time now and I don't think I could ever go without it.
I use YouTube a lot and I hated seeing ads all the time as it broke up videos in annoying places and it also meant it wasted my time having to skip them constantly. I do think it's expensive and over priced, but AdBlockers have been getting worse and wose and YouTube premium just made more sense to me. Do you pay for premium YouTube, if so, why?
I was always a bit sceptical about paying to have the premium subscription but then I went to stay with friends who have it and now couldn't imagine not having it. By removing the YouTube ads it makes watching YouTube so much better; more seamless watching and makes it more like TV. For me it is a subscription worth having if you are a regular YouTube user.
The idea of ad free YouTube is great but in a time where the cost of living is going up constantly I think that for the sake of a bit of time taken up by adverts it is better to use the free service and save some money. In the future if things start to become cheaper it is something I might look into.
I don't have YouTube premium because I don't see the point in paying for the ad free service. If there's too many ads I turn on my ad blocker but generally have it disabled as you can sometimes pick up some great things on a deal through ads. Not all the time, but I find that you miss out on good offers if you have them turned off. Plus, the ads don't run for very long between videos anyway.
