I swear, Kareem Abdul Jabbar is just about the most under rated player in NBA History. I mean really, everywhere I go I see people talking about Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, Bird, Chamberlain and others but never Kareem. IT's like people don't even know him. He was an extremely amazing player.

1st in Points with 38, 387
3rd in Blocks with 3, 189
3rd in Rebounds with 17, 440

19x Allstar
6x Champion
6x MVP
2x NBA Finals MVP

I don't speak of him a lot, but at least I know who he is and I acknowledge him. I mainly know who he is because he is #1 in most career points scored in NBA history.

Kareem is one of the best of all time. Part of the reason no one talks about him is because he isn't flashy. Think how everyone ignores Tim Duncan. Also, he doesn't try to hog the spotlight. He was the silent type who wanted to keep out of the media. And let's not forget he was a teammate of Magic Johnson. The media chose to focus on Magic more because he was more accommodating to them.

You are so right and Duncan is an accurate comparison. People just don't remember the hard workers. The numbers should speak for themselves but they always don't. And in the times that we live in, it's more important to get on Sportscenter than the stat sheet.

No body will ever reach Kareem Abdul Jabbar in points. The closest person to doing that right now is Kobe, but he won't be able to. I'm guessing Kobe will go up to 3rd or 2nd on the all time scoring list, but no further as Kareem is way ahead of everyone. Jordan is praised by the media and I'm not sure why. Why does everyone say Micheal Jordan is the best player in NBA History?

Micheal Jordan has

Points 32,292
Rebounds 6,672
Assists 5,633

8k less points and 11k less rebounds.

He had the same # of championships as Kareem and 1 less MVP.

I don't think Jabbar is underrated.

But you're right about him not being flashy. He was never like Magic Johnson, who brought the idea of "showtime" to L.A. Kareem was simply just this player that did his job to the top of his game and played at an extremely high level.

He doesn't get noticed because he never went out of his way to excite the crowd. All he did was win. And in my eyes, that's all that matters.

Jabbar is also a very ****y person. I remember seeing many interviews and he was probably one of the most arrogant people I have ever seen. I believe Larry Bird and Wilt Chamberlain are far more underrated though.
