i just don't get it. all my friends have one, they love it, theyr addicted to it. i have one, but i just don't get it. its people posting art, and music, and videos, and blog-stuff in a 'twitter-like way,' but i don't see the point....
and lots of people are going from deviant art to tubmlr, and i don't see how its a better change...
so tell me, whats the appeal?
 
It's a nice system for those that use it.
The point of it is that a user can post and share anything on it like a mini-blogging system.
Especially handy for those that don't have a personal blog of need more characters compared to services like Twitter.
I have a tumblr page but it's mainly setup as a feed from my ping.fm account.
I do have the app on my phone and view it that was from time to time, but I'm more of a Twitter power user.

I'm from Poland (but I'm living in Spain now) and I've recently noticed that many people in my country also use Tumblr. I hadn't imagined why but while I was reading their blogs, I understood. Beautiful layout, easy to read, nice idea!

You are right, nice layout to read. You will get a privilege to design according to the thing what you like to publish.
