whats the best dvd coping softwere

DVD Shrink is probably the easiest to use. It's freeware, utilizes Nero's burning engine if you have it installed, and lets you strip away parts of the disc you don't want to minimize compression of the actual feature.

i havent been able to successfully use dvd shrink, but i was trying it in one of the old betas.

i tried nero's recode2, but the quality came out terribly

ive always been a fan of dvd2one. its like 100kb, has an amazingly easy interface, and the finished product comes out amazingly most of the time. its quick and easy, but i do remember liking dvdshrink for being able to select specifically what got compressed and how much. maybe ill give it a shot

i DID just buy 100 4x dvd+rs that my hacked firmware will burn at 16x ;)

How old? I've been using it about 6 months over several versions and never had a problem.
What kind of problems were you having?

Anyone try 123 Copy DVD? It got 8/10 in Maximum PC

I haven't tried it, but from what I was reading about it, it seems like it's a pay program that does the same thing as DVD Shrink, and doesn't do copy protected discs without a plugin.

hmm. maybe dvd shrink worked, but i was unimpressed by the results. i think i used 3.0 beta 5. what are they up to now? i'll give it a shot - how fast is it? dvd2one takes an average of like 25-30 mins for an entire disc

Current version is 3.2.0.15.
On my system (P4 2.4C @ 3.2), it takes about an hour for a full movie to compress and burn at 4x, and I haven't seen any problems with the results in terms of quality.

If you have Nero installed, it will burn too.

It will automatically detect if you have Nero, and give you the option to burn after compression. It simply uses the Nero burning engine in the background, so it will look like it's DVD Shrink doing the burning in an all-in-one process.

If you don't have Nero, it will just let you create the disc, but you will have to use your own authoring program do burn the VOB files to DVD+/-R.

i got 2 some reson dont ask y xprees is so easy 1 button to press takes aboit 45 mins to copy a dvd and then theres nero witch dus it in 60 mins

wow. i think i just found a new friend. converted and burned in like 39 mins. how much time do the extras take like deep encode and sharpness and all that jazz? do they really make a difference?

i really like how its an all in one step with the assistance of nero. saves some hassle of having to use 3 different programs - does dvd shrink decode too? probably not

ick - i dont know about the quality tho. i might have to use those extra features next time...hmm
