One of my high schools it was the tuna melt...makes me want to gag just thinking about it!

best was definitely the pizza...with corn and a salad (

I like tunafish sandwiches, and I like egg salad sandwiches. I didn't like the school's, though - they'd add stuff to it. Weird stuff. Sometimes crunchy, sometimes chewy. It's just not right.

My knob tastes funny.

I haven't really ate the cafeteria food except the french fries. I have heard the pizza 10x's worse than microwavable pizzas. I think everything is really nasty so i get subway (most of the time) , pizza hut, or just some chips.

I'm interested.

Yeah, I love tuna fish and eggsalad sandwiches too.

Never had those at my school though.

Something tells me that was probably a GOOD thing!

we had heinous tacos that looked and smelled like dog feces ...

The summer before my freshman year of high school, I took a class at Appalachain State in Boone, NC. The food was usually pretty decent, but one night they served beef stew that congealed when I put salt in it. If I remember correctly, it made one of the kids there sick, too.

I was smart enough to avoid school lunch at all costs in High School but in College I have no choice. The worst thing I have ever seen though was sweet and sour cod.

The catfish they serve in there is also the worst food known to man. I wouldnt even make my dog eat that s***.

uh yeah . . .

at least you HAD A CAFETERIA. my school is so small that we dont. we have a little overpriced food service that RUNS OUT OF FOOD. it used to be good. we used to have one of those roach coaches come. that was real food. but i dont even eat on campus anyways. theres like 10000 places to eat within a 1 mile radius of my school. but now that i dont eat fast food, what will i do? hmm

The worst food I ever had in a caffeteria setting was when I worked on staff at a boy scout summer camp out in OK (Camp Garland). Anyways, Friday morning breakfast consisted of some kind of rock hard bread, and some sort of weird sause that smelled like @$$. What did we call it? Why, sh!t on a shingle, of course!!!! :gags: What shocked me was that they kept serving that week after week when no one wanted to eat it. I mean...duh!!! The Vietcong could have used the stuff to build bunkers.

Best food had to be the Pizza Hut pizza that they brought in all the time when I was in HS. Came with salad, a banana, and milk.

Not quite the same without the corn, huh?

Alright, I think only kids who went to public school in NYC should know how bad these things were: Jamaican Beef Patties. It was like a yellow pastry shell filled with Alpo.

You just made me think of the Mr. McRib sandwiches they served at my school. It was a total rip off of McD's, and it was worse. The rib patties were just ground up, processed something that had a rubbery consistancy to it. Talk about impossible to chew and a ton of sauce need to make it palletable. *blech*

In college, I dispised how they took leftovers and disguised them as something else. e.g. Blazing Redfish becomes Crispy Crunchy Redfish. And the names!!! You have to worry when they call it Savory Meatloaf.

What gets me is no matter where you go, if you have pizza, there's always a salad close by (in school) and usually corn.

The ham and cheese sandwiches, the ham had a layer of slime on it. I don't know what the ladies in the kitchen thought they were serving but it sure wasn't anything edible. I think they served army surplus canned food from WWII.
