You know when you brush your teeth, and you have a bit of water/spit/toothpaste around your mouth? What do you use to wipe your mouth? When I first started living with my husband, I saw him wipe his mouth on the hand towel, and I was so disgusted. He now uses a piece of toilet paper or tissue, and throws it out. My son does the same. I always use my bath towel, because I throw it in the hamper at the end of the day, and only I have touched it, but even that seems weird. I just made some mini wash cloths, so we can use those now, throwing them in the hamper after each use. That seems like the best solution. Now i'm curious what other people do! Poll is coming, if I can figure out how to make a poll.

Swoosh and spit, then wipe with the nearest bath towel!

I think you can only post a poll with your OP so not sure if you can do it now.

This is what I do too, but my son & husband seem to be incapable of getting the toothpaste off their mouths.

not exactly the same but my boys cant seem to wipe their backs off when they get out of the shower--bugs me seeing them walk around with water all over their backs--then they sit on the couch..

My DH has the same problem...I showed him how my mom taught me...I just think men are lazy...at least mine is!

I don't wipe my mouth on anything. I don't get toothpaste all over my mouth when I brush. My hubby wipes on the HAND TOWEL!!! And he looks like he is foaming from the mouth after he brushes.

Of course he also uses the hand towel to wipe the sink cabinet top... then hangs it back up.... Um... I dry my CLEAN hands on there.... now the towel is dirty! IRKS the hell outta me... Ok... rant over!

I don't trust my husband at all with any towels, even though I think I have broken him of most disgusting habits... at least in front of me. When we were first married, he once mowed the lawn on a hot summer day, came in the house, wiped his sweaty face on the kitchen towel, then hung it back up! I don't know how I didn't barf. When I freaked out on him :hopmad:, he actually tried to defend it, by saying "sweat is just water! I took a shower before I mowed, so it is clean water" (who the hell takes a shower before mowing on a hot summer day?!). I reamed him out, and think he is towel trained by now, but I use a fresh towel constantly, just in case. For the bathroom, I bought monogrammed towels for the bathroom (they were on clearance a while back at Meijer), and put his closest to the sink, so he never touches mine. Ds can only reach his (on a towel rack at his level), but I trust him. He is great about being clean.

I think we have lots of germaphobes here

my kids are pretty darn healthy

and I dont think about germs and such at all

What she said! Most of us have had a heck of a lot worse things in our mouths. What's the big deal on wiping your mouth on a hand towel or not? Air drying will kill any germs that are left. I don't do it because we have dark green towels, and toothpaste doesn't make a pretty pattern!!!

I have enough other things to concentrate on, not how many germs are in my life.

You must be like my mother then. She doesn't even use napkins when she eats, because she never gets food on her mouth. She certainly didn't pass that gene on to me & ds, because our napkins look like a crime scene on spaghetti night! :giggles:

My DH wipes his face on any nearby towel when he's done shaving. There's still residual hairs and shaving cream on it. Drives me nuts.

You rinse your mouth/face with water first. Then dry the water with a hand towel. Oh, and rinse the toothpaste goobers out of the since so they don't become a crusty mess.
