Want to be the hit of the party? Bring this!

just in case the website ever pulls the recipe or something:

PretzelBarkCollage-X3.jpg

  • half bag of mini pretzel twists
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 bag of chocolate chips
  • Sea salt or table salt
Directions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Then line a large jelly roll pan with aluminum foil and lay a single layer of pretzels down. I was pretty meticulous about this and made neat little rows (you can fit more on that way right?).
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and the brown sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Let it boil gently just until it starts to stick to the bottom and it forms a nice smooth caramel. You’ll want to let it bubble a little and get really thick.
  • Remove from heat and pour evenly over the top of the pretzels (don’t worry if every single pretzel isn’t covered). Put in the oven at 350 degrees for five minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top. You can let the caramel melt the chips, but I prefer to put it back in the oven for one minute.
  • Spread the chocolate chips around with a spatula until mostly melted.
  • Sprinkle generously with salt.
  • Let cool on the counter top for a few minutes and then pop in the freezer for at least two to three hours.
  • When it comes out of the freezer, break it up into uneven chunks with your hands and serve.

wow, i almost bought pretzels today...not sure if I am glad I didn't or upset that I didn't...looks awesome.

I think I might make some of this to bring into work around Christmas time. Looking for easy stuff to make this year.

Oh man, I'm thankful I don't have pretzels in the house...that looks sinfully good. I don't know if I should say thanks for sharing or not, I'll probably regret reading this thread. LOL!

Salted carmel pretzel bark. It's awsome. Got it off pinterest made it 3 times for 3 different events and everyone wants the recipe! It's easy only 5 ingredients!

Did you have any problems with it melting If not in the freezer? I read a few comments that it melts when left on the counter after its frozen and wondered because most likely id have it on the counter for awhile at a party. Thanks! Think I'll try it first then make another batch to bring.

If it is melting on the counter I'd bet that they didn't cook the caramel enough and the butter and sugar haven't combined properly. If cooked correctly everything should be a solid at room temperature.

i had no problems with it melting, i would guess what canadia said. Although it does get eaten fast so not alot of melting time! I did have it out of the freezer for a good 3hrs or so without melting the second time i made it

I'm having my aunts 80th b-day party this weekend and was trying to think of what snacks to make, I'm going to make this, thanks for posting.
