Coloring hair. When the snow gets that "dirty" look, I'll be more inclined to get rid of it.

WOW!! I guess it really is almost March! When you first posted about bringing your new DD home in March, it was ages away. You guys must be BEYOND excited! :huggy:

They have to go to work because they, you know, work there. This really was a VERY minimal amount of snow. We had about 3-4 inches, and I think we were in one of the "harder-hit" areas north of I-80.

I commuted 50 miles each way for 8 years, and I was only building houses. Even in bad weather. :shrug:

That said, I have many times in my life worked with various whiners who "call in" when the weather is bad. I mean, if it's truly a highway-shutting blizzard or a dangerous ice storm, I can see it, but wanting to avoid a distasteful commute? Puh-leeze. Ya know where ya live, ya know where ya work...

(My DH had to leave at 5am today to be in Huntley for a 9am meeting. You know, just so he would definitely be on time.)

Trust me....DH is NOT a whiner. He would just like to be alive to see his girls grow up. No job is worth dying for. Even if the higher-ups think it is. I never ment to imply that DH or I whine. We just have some common sense.

Does anyone know how much we might get Tuesday? My dd turns 9 that day and would be absolutely delighted if we actually got a snow day:). I'm not holding my breath though...
 
I will ask dh. I didn't edit the post to Tuesday, and I have just been relaxing today. Last week he told me well in advance we were going to get snow---so he might have told the kids and not me (since I have been hiding all day lol)
 
If Rocky turns out like Q it would be fine by me...didn't start until mid-evening, most of the major stuff done by 7AM...roads clear & dry by 3PM...I don't really like having nearly a week's warning...I stewed about Q for days, and then it turned into almost a non-event...if the predictions stay true, it sounds more like a slush storm for us with highs in the mid-30s...

I noticed Waukegan had delayed opening school until 9 or 930 am with this last storm. This was long before the first snow flake flew. 2 people called/texted work stating if it snows very much, I will not be coming to work. Seems odd to call in, before the storm hits, when you live here... just really do not understand how if you live in the chicagoland area, you do not expect snow.

Not sure what you are asking. I have always had the same mod powers since I got them years ago. I am supposed to be an admin when the board resets.
