yes. yes i am. lol. should be very cool. did anyone see star wars: clone wars? it was 12 10 minute cartoon shorts that bridge the gap between episode 2 and 3...very very cool stuff. if you like star wars check 'em out.
i think it's not going to suck! i'm looking forward to it. it's going to have to be lots of action, and that's what george lucas actually CAN do. what he CAN'T do is get decent performances out of actors, and he CAN'T write or direct a love scene.
My dad is a HUGE fan of that! We are going to the theatres on My 28 to see it., Well he is, he told me I could pick a movie of my choice if I didnt want to ****ch it. I think its ok and I wouldnt mind it so much if I hadnt practicall grew up around it. Between that ans Star Trek thats all I have seen through my years growing up....
This one is going to be so dark and disturbing and sad that Lucas cant possibly cheese it up. This is the movie starwars fans have always wanted. Badass without the cutesy kid crap. Jawas were kind of cool, ewoks were cute, but seriously Jar Jar was NIETHER! He was pure kid stuff and that doesnt belong in scifi if you ask me. Now sillyness in SciFi is ok, I loved hichhickers guide, but Jar Jar in SciFi, thats an insult.
We watched Episode II: Attack of the Clones for two days in Math class, we just finished it up today. I saw the movie previously and I am reminded how much that movie absolutely sucked. There is a sickening amount of "just in time" moments and Yoda who can barely walk suddenly becoming super midget made me convinced that Lucas created a comedy rather than a serious film.
I refer you all to here: http://www.chefelf.com/starwars/ep2.php which gives 64 reasons why to hate Star Wars Episode II. Oh btw I saw the commercial for Episode III, now their not even trying to make it look good as they KNOW you’ll see it.
ok...it's been a while since i've watched episodes 1 and 2, but i've seen 4, 5 and 6 incessantly on tv the past few years. sure, the script could have been a little better in episode 1 and 2, but you all know the plot, there's no point disguising it. the scripts could have been a little bit better for sure and jar jar is the worst character in existance. but those movies gave rise to 2 of the most spine-tinglingly awesome scenes i've ever seen, and they were totally expected.
scene the first, in episode 1. obi wan and qui-gonn are somewhere, i think on amidala's planet...they jump out of their ship and look at a huge door. the door starts to open. standing there is darth maul. you KNOW he was gonna be there. you expect him to be there. and there he is, and you know coolness will ensue (and it does).
scene the 2nd. a scene that lots of people seem to have a problem with. episode 2. yoda and dokoo are force-ing each other. they decide they have to duke it out with lightsabres. the only thing we know of yoda and lightsabres to this point is: firstly, everyone has always claimed yoda is the best jedi with a lightsabre ever and second, he's so tiny and frail that you wonder if everyone is smoking crack. so they are facing each other, dokoo pulls out his lightsabre, and yoda force pulls his lightsabre out! like how cool is he to do that?!?! then he goes spider monkey and jumps around like a crazy man. and then you know why he's the best with a lightsabre.
you CAN'T take star wars movies seriously. i mean really, look back to episodes 4, 5, and 6 and they are equally cheesy, it's just that they've been around forever and people think they are "classics" and so out of the realm of critiquing. but they are SOO cheesy. you gotta accept star wars for what it is, cool sci-fi with cool fighting and the ultimate fight of good vs. evil. if you are expecting any more than that then you are a nut job lol.
I'm definitely going to see it, I just hope there are no ewoks to destroy the Clone Troopers, or intelligent donkeys like jar jar binks that save the day. Just good 'ol science fiction, not a kids show. Can Lucas do it? I'm :eusa_pray
