Steve Jobs resigns as Apple’s CEO today. He will still be Chairman of the Board and be involved with the company. Tim Cook will now be Apple’s new CEO.
In his resignation letter he wrote,
“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties andexpectations as Apple’s C.E.O., I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.”Tim Cook took Steve Job’s position while he was on medical leave. He has been working with Apple for 13 years and was always considered the next leading candidate to take Steve’s position. Once the news broke out about the resignation, a lot of people were concerned about Steve’s health. Many Apple fans on twitter tweeted their questions and concerns for both Steve and Apple. They questioned about his health and reasons for stepping down and whether Apple will still be a successful company without him.
Steve has been known for his unique and creative ideas. In his resignation letter he strongly recommended that Tim Cook be the next CEO. Now that Tim is taking Steve’s position, he now has to show that Apple can still succeed without him.
For the iPhone 5 news, there has not been any rumors of delays. The rumors still stands that the iPhone 5 pre order will start September 30 and be available to purchase October 7.
