I just read this... I'm so sorry to hear all of this Dan. I hope all returns to normal soon. Hearing this bring some bad memories up... I fume with rage and sadden with dispair.
And something else comes to mind... at least you have anger to vent... and not stupidity like me... I bought my wife a top of the line APS camera sometime back and left it at a classy restuarant... with some unclassy people who sat down after us. ($500+) stupid mistake.
Man that sucks. I too feel like I know all of you guys and I join moonsee in saying that I will gladly pummel whoever did this to you. Hopefully you get at least some of your stuff back. God how I hate theifs
I'm sorry to hear of your loss, and I know all too well exactly how you feel. On Memorial Day, I get to relive going through an armed robbery that happened in 1981. I've also had 2 burglaries, and lost everything from guns, cash, jewelry, & stereo equipment to furniture. It doesn't get any easier by going through it again, but eventually, you'll get over the feeling of being invaded.
I was fortunate the second burglary. I got most of my stuff back. Some college students were driving by, and saw a man come out of my house carrying stereo equipment and just walk down the street with it at 2:00 am. They turned around, and he dropped it and took off running. 3 days later, another woman tried to pass a stolen check (not from me) at a grocery store. The check was on a list, and the clerk caught it. The store manager called the police, and the woman's accomplice had my Glock 17 in their car. It does occasionally happen that stolen items are returned.
I suggest that you set up one of your boxen with some home monitoring equipment and have it dial the police if it detects home intrusion.
