Who do you think will be the next President of the United States when Obama's term ends?  Who will you vote for?  Who do you want to see win the election?

I know, I don't want to see Hillary win. I'm not sexist, it has nothing to do with her gender. I just don't agree with some of the things that she believes.

I really got no clue who's going to win. I'm hoping that 1) no republican win, 2) favorite would be Jill Stein from the Green Party but 3) I'll settle with Bernie Sanders.

If it can happen, I'm hoping Bernie. At this point, I'm just happy with the fact Chris Christie is failing the Republican campaign- though on the other hand, that means he's likely gonna run for governor again, and I'd rather not have to deal with that.

I think Trump has it in the bag. Out of the Republicans he is the best. The Democrats didn't even bother to try: their selections of a criminal and an aging socialist are not electable. I expect it to be a very boring election once the nominees are picked.

I predict a Hillary VS Trump election with Trump squashing Hillary.

I'm gonna admit, so far of the Republicans [none of whom I really like per say], Trump seems the most favorable to a degree- as weird as it is for a huge Democrat to say. The fact that he's extremely blunt calls to me, because I'm big on blunt honesty: and whether he really annoys me a lot at times or not, and whether I hate his views or not...The fact that he's blunt about things makes me respect him.

Still gonna root for the slim chance Bernie can get his way in the running/winning though. Because while I don't trust politics and the way the electoral college thing works, I do still believe in the idea that wishing can have results sometimes. Rarely.

Why being a socialist is bad is a debate I am tempted to trigger, but I think I'll save that for another thread.

Don't bother.  I'm on a tablet.  You'll get a sentence or two out of me but that's not going to be a decent reply lol.  It's just too difficult on this tablet and I don't have non-mobile Internet. Although I would research it.  Socialism has failed almost everywhere it's been enacted.  Look up Sweden and it's near financial collapse.  Socialism has never worked America either yet it's been historically tried several times.  It's just a really bad system honestly.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with him on this juncture.  At least, that's what they taught me in school, so I'm led to believe it.

Depends on which type of socialism though. I live in Norway, a social democracy, with good welfare programs, free medical aid etc, a strong economy and it's the best country to live in according to the UN (several years in a row). Just an example of a country with some socialist values that actually works.

Still, I think we should keep on topic. This is a huge debate in itself.

Believing something because it was taught in school is a horrible reason to believe in something.

I will stress it again: a purely capitalist economy is just as bad as a purely socialist one. It needs to be like 85% capitalism and 15% socialism. Some goods and services distributed equally, and some market regulation where the consumer may be at stake.

And of course, none of this would matter if the country isn't a democracy.

If I were to vote, it would be for Marco Rubio. The man is the only sane candidate.

It was taught with credibility and facts.  I chose to believe it.

Besides, aren't you a pawn of the American education system anyways?  You among all people should know how this works.

I don't see myself as a pawn... yes, I could learn all of this crap on my own, but the degree shows that I'm actually certified to practice my profession.

I read that Bernie will have to drop out within the next two weeks. Not sure why. I didn't have time to finish reading about it.

He's losing the election despite media appearances.  The Democrats ironically enough don't stick to democracy very often.

Let me explain.

In a democratic primary election the peoples votes don't count.  They serve as a guide post to see the general opinion and lean of the party.  The votes that matter come from super delegates.  Whoever picks up the most super delegates wins the nomination.

The super delegates are supposed to represent the Democrats in the party.  Often times they do not.  They've been known to vote on personal preference (wouldn't we all though with such power?)  and can be bought.

Bernie despite at winning the people or at least running a neck to neck campaign with Clinton has something like 70 super delegates while Clinton has 503. This means Hillary  already has over 30% of the super delegates tied up.  Once she hits 51% it's over.  She will be the nominee and it's looking very possible. I'd say well know by super. Tuesday which is next week I believe.

Mind you the super delegates posted in this thread are accurate for now but there's a primary and a caucus today so tomorrow those numbers may shift some.  It'll be interesting to see how much.

I'm pulling for Trump. Honestly, I can't imagine Hillary or Bernie helping us get out of this mess that we're in. Quite honestly, I'm tired of politicians. People like Sanders, Cruz, Hillary, and Rubio haven't done much at all in the private sector. I don't feel like getting a law degree (like Cruz and Hillary did) is what should be required to run our country. I want someone who's ran something else before. Someone who's a winner. I personally see that as Donald Trump. I can't say I'm too fond of everything he says, but the majority I do agree with.

He's definitely ran his company... into four bankruptcies.

They we're subsidiary holdings and I'm not sure why you bring that up like it's a bad thing? It's not. He used loopholes in the system to save money and jobs. It's not illegal.  In fact most of you do the same to a much lesser scale during tax season.  I can't blame the man for intellectual moves.  Just realize bankruptcy doesn't carry the same stigma today as it did years ago.
