Design Premium or free fonts?

There's lots of free fonts available out there to use but sometimes it can be a good choice to use a premium font instead. Have you ever paid for a premium font and used it on a website? I have before and it's a good way to give your website a unique identity.

The only issue with premium fonts is that they can often be quite expensive to buy which means you will have to spend lots of money to get each font style and use it on your website. This is okay if you have a budget for your website that allows for this sort of thing but those that don't it can be tough.

I can't say I have ever bought a font, I have downloaded fonts to use on graphics that I make such as banners, logos and such but never felt I needed to buy fonts.

I know you can buy fonts but couldn't say how much they are going for at least not at the moment.
