Ok, as some of you know, I am a HUGE animal lover.... let's just put it this way, I would rather have a house full of pets then have "ONE" kid! hehe

Oh well... so I was just wondering if any of you have pets and what they are, what are their names, how did they get to become your pets and so on.

I will start, I have 2 cats, 1 dog and 1 bird.

My first cat is Tamey, she is the boss of this house.
I got her a long time ago, I went in the pet store just to see what was there, and she was the only one left and when she saw me coming towards her... she stuck her lil paw out at me and was meowing so loud and was scratching at the window to get out...so I couldn't resist I bought her.

Then I have Jazmyne, my second cat, I "catnapped" her... We were on our way to the bowling alley and we stopped at a convenience store and she was on top of the ice cooler thing you get bags of ice from outside, warming up to a spot light. That was in mid or late november, so it was pretty cold...( that was a few years back ) So I took her, and I have had her ever since. She is the cuddly one of all, she follows you around all the time.

Then came Nanook my dog... my Husky, we were driving around one day and decided to stop at the animal shelter, and there he was... all scared in the back of his cage, his tail between his leg and wouldn't even look straight at me... he had his head down and was peeking to see if it was still there. When my boyfriend left to go see another dog... Nanook walked up to me very slowly and licked my hand... well that was it for me... HE LIKED ME... I had to have him. So we adopted him... he was an abused dog, when we first got him home, he ate about 2 bowls of dry food in 3 weeks, I felt horrible. The poor thing was so afraid of my boyfriend... to this day he is still afraid of men, mostly, he is very timid. But he's the best dog ever, he doesn't bark, doesn't dig, doesn't run away when left outside and not on his leach.. I am telling you, I have the best dog ever.

Then there is Nicky, the ****atiel I think it's called... we got him from my boyfriends mom. He used to have one as a kid but his dog ate it... ouch!!! The childhood scars... lol, but anyway we took him in, we have had him for almost 2 years now and he can say "hello" and he can give kisses, and he's really very cute...

Ok so there you go you know my family, now let me hear about yours!!!

Meet the Royals

I have two adopted cats - Lord Dufferin who is a 16 year old, 20 pound gray cat. He was a stray and was only a half hour away from being put down at the Animal Shelter. They had separated him from the other cats and placed him in the "waiting" room area cubicle- a room outside of the area where they euthanize the unwanted cats. He was crouching in a corner and shaking.

I asked why he was alone and when they informed me that he was supposed to be put down an hour before but the "killer's" (my word)car wouldn't start so he was running late! I immediately took TC - he didn't have a name so they called him TC for the cat - and he has been by my side for 16 faithful years.

The poor cat had been kicked in the face by a group of young boys and his jaw had been fractured. To this day he is frightened of kids. Don't blame him there. Smart cat!

Lady Abbey, is a feral cat, born in a barn and still somewhat wild. She is 9 years old and has never fully developed. She just got longer , still has the round eyes like a kitten and although she has a great appetite, she weighs only 4 pounds.

I adopted her from a veterinary hospital in another part of the province shortly before Halloween. They were giving away kittens, however the local papers expressed concern about giving away cats and kittens at that time of year because several cats had been discovered "sacrificed" the year before following a wild Halloween night.

Both cats have their own distinct personality and they both have different taste in food. Lord Dufferin for some strange reason likes Kraft Dinner whereas Lady Abbey prefers lobster, shrimp and scallops. Naturally they eat their IAMS and are given people food only on special occasions.

My cats are indoor cats and are content in their old age to just be lazing in the sun on the balcony or curled up on the bed purring away and watching their own videos - all birds, fish and baby animals. It is hilarious to see how intent they are while they watch birds and butterflies flitting around on the screen.

I have two pets, a dog and a cat.

Astro(Dog): 11 years old(nearly), loves to eat. Really likes my mom, and is a bit lazy in his old age. Loves the snow, and hates stray cats and birds.

Mei(Cat): 4 years old (nearly). Also loves to eat. Named for the month we found her dropped behind our backyard fence. We had to bottle feed it for the first few months. Now a big lazy cat.

Your pets sound sweet, Venus, greyscale and Chris. We should start a pet gallery. Animals only!! No people!

I have 10 fish in a 20 gallon tank (I won't bother naming them).

I also have my black lab mix...Pancake. She was orginally supposed to be a chocolate lab but when we saw her at the SPCA she won us over. She was less hyper and already house trained so she won hands down. She is the biggest attention **** I've ever seen in my life.

I've got a German Shepherd, about 8 years old. I adopted him about 4 years ago from a rescue shelter. He was really vicious when they found him, almost put him down. He can still show slight bits of that on occasion but typically only when he's nervous or protective. At home he's a huge puppy.

Poor little guy! It is sinful how people torture and abuse defenseless animals!

I am glad he was able to find a good home at last, Aelwulf. What's the dog's name?

:love7: I am loving all of this... I love your stories, I love how you talk to proudly of your pets... Keep them post coming!!!! :D

I'm going to have to post links to pictures of my pets :) Well me and my wife have a menagerie at this time we have our St. Bernard names Arya :P Named after the character in G.R.R Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series. She is the momma of the house she will play with all the other critters and follow them around trying to baby them. Some pictures of here can be found here.

The Min Pincher in the pics is Cyrus, he is a little devil dog(he's cute alot of time also, but I think he saves those times for when he's in trouble already) He's probelly the best alarm clock available..he will let you know that theres someone walking 4 streets away, usually rather loudly as he sits in the front window trying to direct your attention to them :P

Then we have the Buns, Felix and Leane. My Wife got them after I left for Korea to help keep her company :P their cute...and their noses wiggle...Not sure what else they do since I havent spent time with them yet, though I go home in 6 months! :P

Those pictures are fantastic, Brainfreeze! Love the dog and the bunnies!

Love the doggies and :bunny:bunnies, Brainfreeze.....but can take a pass on the rats and mice however......one quick look and had to close the window. Sorry have an extreme phobia of mice and rats.

I myself have one :icon_cat: CAT.....her name is Madison. She is all gray with one white patch on her neck/throat. She is going to be 5 years old in June. She is definitely the BOSS around here, :binkybaby spoiled rotten. I was always a dog person, but when my ex left without taking Madison....I eventually fell totally in love :love4:with her......I couldn't imagine not having her in my life.

So BabyBuddha, upload her picture! Sometimes the cats are the only "people" in your life on which you can totally rely! They are true friends!
