See that's the thing..... I wasn't THAT THAT new..... I just didn't check the thread even though it was right there just about slapping me in the forehead with the constant new posts, because I didn't need ice cream! I didn't look and so I didn't know it was MONEY MAKER ice cream!!!!!! :gah:

i met boxer04 at jewel & we got to talking, exchanged numbers etc..its nice that she's able to give me a heads up on alot of deals- i still feel clueless most of the time. (i hope to be able to spot deals & put them together & share soon!) so i really appreciate what she does for me. also when i acted like a total noob about calling someone out on shelf clearing, and i was taking my licks here, barb was the best. i SOO appreciate the kind words & encouragement she gave not to give up. and as i kept going, i learned a little more about the board & appreciate everyones personality. kinda like family- we may say things to eachother that may hurt a lil (most of the time unintentionally) but everyone has eachothers back & is willing to keep helping eachother. thanks for everything, EVERYONE!!!

I did the same thing. Completely missed the deal and spent a few days kicking myself.

Ok, fearing being lynched for this, but I'll speak the truth.

I was a moderator for Adoption.com, when their owner bought f.com. F.com caught my attention because they were giving away prizes, I won one too . . . I think it was $250 at JcPenney.

I was also a foster parent getting ready to adopt our girls and finances were tight. Even though the girls were school age, their additional needs made it quite apparent that I would not be returning to full time work in the near future.

F.com was falling apart fast. But I was HOOKED, I needed the scoop. So I started googling the user names of the top deal posters at F.com which lead me to AFC and HCW. . . . I was also PMing users to try and find out where everyone was hiding.

Eventually I found my home here.

Barb has held my hand through many deals.

I also got a lot of my local assistance from www.momsneedtoknow.com as well as Karmah & shoudt(humblebob) on HCW

I started out about 3 years ago. Didnt know about this underground world of coupons. My friend owed me money and was paying me with bags of groceries saying she got them for free. Things like tissue, shampoo, deodorant, etc. I said "what do you mean free?" Didnt get that concept, but eventually she taught me a few tricks. Didnt take long for the light bulb to go on, and I threw myself on the computer trying to absorb what I can. I really really like love FREE, so I was hooked for life.

I signed up for refundcents & illinoisgoodealoop. Hollie was an inspiration. She always answered all my silly questions and was such a good person all around. I heard about CW and I've found home here. Barb stood out as a leader for Jewel. I love this group and all the personalities.
Cant get enough.

Wish we could have another get together. It was fun meeting everyone at Gurnee awhile back. Very nice to put a face with all the usernames.

For me it's Barb and Clars

I saw Barb's posts on RS and often would buy coupons from her or follow her deals. For awhile I wondered if there were other couponing communities and as soon as I posted a deal I did at Jewel she sent me a email about CW. She is always teaching me new things, making me laugh, or just saying the right thing at the right time.

Clars is the first couponer I've ever met and as soon as I walked into her house I knew it was all good...same stacks of capri sun and chex mix as in my house. :lol:

Our store used to ask me where I got my coupons/winetags and I'ld joke and say "my sister gave them to me" then they started saying my sister was in the night before (my sister lives in LA) took me awhile to figure out they were talking about Chris. She has always been helpful,generous, witty and funny

Don't feel right leaving out Lee. She is my local hook up to sale and coupons (and recently tissue paper)
