Do you think there is too much negativity on the news?  Have you gotten to the point that you immediately change the channel whenever the news comes on because you don't want to hear all the negative stuff that is happening in the world?

The thing that I've learned is that there really is no joy, and nothing ever good is going to come from negativity. Those are thoughts that, even if you were presenting an honest version of yourself, there's just no point in sharing. - Stephen Amell

This quote sums up negativity perfectly. Nothing good will ever come from negativity.

I try to avoid the news because every time the news comes on, there is a flood of negativity and rarely anything positive going on around the world. It is almost impossible for people to feel safe and happy with all the negativity that the news is putting into peoples' heads

On a more "on-topic" note, the news presents a lot of negativity but then again can you blame the news itself since the world has world has generally evolved with negativity and the news is only reporting it.

Sometimes I just try hard not to get my mind too clouded with what I see on the news daily, the sad things happening, crime rates getting so high, families can't even provide for them basic needs and all the lies been told to us by the government on the media. Its best I just forget about it and pretend i never see any of those , but it's really difficult to do so!

I do think there is a lot of negativity in the news but I think that’s simply because the world is going through so many problems in todays age. It’s a shame but there’s not much you can do about it other than just carry on with your life and not let it affect you.

I think the thing about media is there is always a bias and stance to every article/piece of news. Sometimes this is positivity, and sometimes this is negativity.

I'd say always review a variety of sources for the same story and try and establish the author/journalistic bias. This makes sure you always have quite an 'open' mindset as to current affairs

Strato is right IMO, doesn't matter which channel you watch they're all going to be biased. It's always better to do your own research.

I do find that the biggest proportion of news is negative which can be really disheartening and make you think negatively on the world. I understand that the nature of news is usually things that have gone wrong, are causing issues and are a risk but I think it would be nice to maybe have some positive stories to break it up.

I do think that the news is nothing but negative things but then again not a lot of things happening that is good really. People are more divided than ever and that means you're simply going to hear about bad news. I'd love to hear more about the good things around the world, but they're fairly small things in comparison to the bad.
