More information on Dark Web?

I have heard a lot of people talk about Dark Web but I don't really know exactly what it's all about or how it's used. I have tried linking it up with being a shady Internet space for online illegal activities but I'm not sure if I'm correct. I would like more light thrown on it by any who understands it well.

I've never been on the dark web but from what I understand of it, it's simply like the regularly internet with websites that people can go onto but the only difference is that it's used mainly by criminals for illegal activity such as selling illegal items or sharing illegal content with others. I don't think any regular person really needs to access it.

The dark web is one of those places I wouldn't want to visit because I'd be too concerned with accessing illegal content that I just don't want to see. I think you need to have a special browser that can access that kind of web system. I don't think a normal browser can access it. To be honest I think it's probably used 99% by criminals.

It's the back alley of the internet, if you know what you're doing, you can go there to get anything and everything illegal. Most nation's police organizations watch it, so I wouldn't go anywhere near it.
