Amazing career. Congrats to him. I met him once when I was younger and he signed something for me. That was in the peak of his career. Always appreciated that, also he of the greatest ever, is sad to see him go. If he would of stayed healthy through his career is amazing to think the where he would be ranked among the legends of the game.

Though, I'm not quite sure why you are posting this? It was a story that was released 18 months ago... Brought some nostalgia though.

Huge Griffey fan growing up as well. Everything he did on field was so easy and smooth. He just had a ton of ability and he could have gone down as one of the greatest ever if not for injuries. He's still had an amazing career in spite of that though. His video game was pretty awesome too.

He's one of he few guys who I don't think took steroids in that era. It's impossible to know one way or the other but my gut tells me he didn't.

One of my favorite baseball players of all time. One of the few to be an amazing HR hitter without the use of roids. His son is an up and coming football player in College btw not sure if anyone saw the article on Yahoo a few months back on his son or not

I still remember him laying out to catch a long fly ball. He goes hard into the wall and breaks his wrist; out for the season. He could have laid off and took the bounce like a lot of players might but he didn't give a **** and just went for it.

Really? His wife must have been poping the babies out when he was young if the kid is already in college.

Griffey was a very talented ball player. If it wasn't for all the injuries that he was dealt with, his numbers would of been more impressive. But I do think he should be able to make it to the Hall of Fame with no problems.

He's first ballot easily. Absolutely amazing player in his prime. Injuries cut down some of his production, but he still hit many great milestones in spite of them.

Definitely, one of the best. Crazy to see him retire, but happens to everyone. Time for someone else to step up to the plate.

He would be an excellent first ballot choice. He deserves to be in on the first time that he is eligible. Yes, despite his injuries he did put up some great milestones.
