After graduation, I was unemployed for around a month until I found a job that accepted me. That makes me realized that job hunting is really not an easy thing to do, the competition is real, and your CV means a lot in landing a suitable job.

Share your stories of job hunting, maybe tips and tricks too? A friend once even suggested that I altered my CV so I could get the job easier. That's rather... worrying. :(

When I got out of high school, I spent about three months without a job (not really hunting since I just wanted to enjoy my summer before entering the grind workforce), thankfully a family friend got me a job at a local store.

That's quite nice. It's always thankful to have family members or friends that can help in that area, as long as it's not just random promotion/position lol. My uncle also offered to train under him if I couldn't get a job. Thankfully I did.

Hm, while I'm currently not looking for employment, I realize the great difficulty in trying to secure an internship.  The competition is high, but my desires are higher, and by the end of the day, I'll make sure to print my resumes on cream lenin.  I'll even use my school's email for an increase in credibility.  Only then the hardest part are the interviews...  :disapointed:

Ugh, it took me forever to find a job. After I graduated high school I took like a year off, then I tried to find a job. Took me like a year before I finally found one. It can be so frustrating! People do not like to hire people with no experience, which is sad...because everyone starts out there at some point.

Unfortunately I don't know what it is like to be without of job out of college, I was blessed with going straight from college into a job in my field. In particular I actually got the job via an Internship at the same place that I have now been working at for about 2 years.

I recently found myself out of job. It has ben a month now abd I have had no even 1 interview. My resume is well done but out of hospitality it is not very attractive.

Don't give up! Don't take just anything but don't be horribly picky at the same time :) :yus:

I am currently unemployed and actively looking for a job. Jobs are not hard to find if you're willing to be paid minimum wage. That is my struggle right now...should I accept a job just to have a job or should I wait for something that pays more.

I agree. Fortunately this time I am not as desperate as when I just had moved. I am trying to go for quality instead of quantity applying for jobs. Instead of sending the same to everywhere I try to focus on the jobs I actually care about and craft my best cover letter and tailor my resume a bit before sending it.

I guess it depends on for how long you can wait before getting the job but I'd say strive for the one that pays a bit more and is stable. I went for the first job that had me and while it started really nicely with the years it became a mess when I realise we were being underpaid and other dodgy little things. A year before I went to a retail job that turned out to be a telemarketing job.

Many prey for the ones in need that have no luxury to choose or wait for something else.

I got this fear coming up on me, I'll be graduating in a few months and will have to try and find a job related to my degree. Won't be easy.
