Sent DS to school with sore throat (no fever or icky nose/tummy/GI) and by 9:30 school called to pick him up. Work said they were covered so I've been home (or Jewel) today

He's bummed cause tonight is Homecoming game and we won't let him go. Hopefully he can get to the dance tomorrow night. Kids grow so fast!

It took me 2 hours and 45 minutes to get home tonight. Normally about a 45 minute drive. First I had to deal with extra traffic due to a nearby rail road crossing being closed for repairs. Then, once I got past that traffic, I wound up in a very slow moving line of traffic. I was eventually able to see that a freight train was stopped across the road and wasn't showing any signs of moving. Made my way around it, but the whole thing took me an extra 2 hours of driving.
To make matters worse, I was driving with a migraine which made me sick to my stomach. I stopped about 30 minutes in and got some pain meds. By about 75 minutes in, the pain and sick feelings were letting up.
Just needed to vent...hope next week is much better!

ADHD boy is doing well with his meds. He doesn't eat much so I have to fatten him up during the weekend when he's not on meds. He's still a nut with Sadie though. :surrender: Maree's thread about tourettes got me thinking about DS. He has quite a few tics......the meds make them worse. So far he doesn't care and kids don't say anything (3rd grade). He has lots of friends so I won't worry about it until it starts to affect him. He's just the sweetest, funniest, most creative kid......LOVE THAT BOY!!!!!!!!! :bliss:
The 10 (almost 11) year old is in football (loves it) and won't stop growing.......sigh. His grades could use some work though. He takes good care of Sadie.
He's a very kewl kid and becoming quite a young man. :cartwheel:

Thanks for the update...glad they are doing well!
My ds woke up this morning complaining of the same issue! I told him he had to go to school (he sometimes pretends to be sick) I take him downstairs and my inlaws (who arrived yesterday for a week) btw there should be a "shoot me" smiley. Anywho - ds complains to mil who convinces me to have him stay home. An hour later he has a fever of 102. Needless to say my mil was all over that one and made sure to let me know several times that she's glad SHE convinced me he should stay home. There's going to be lots of drinking this next week!

I've been crazy busy with going back to work and trying to get the new house done plus homework, teacher calls, etc with the kids being back in school!

After I pick my kids up from school, I'm taking them to MIL's house. She's taking them to a Halloween party at the school she works at tonight. They love it and all, but ****.....they eat soooo much candy then she drops them back home later all hopped up on candy crack. :surrender:
I'm going to get caught up on several shows that I DVR'd last night and finish putting up some Halloweed decor (yeah yeah I know I'm slow).

My DVR is almost at capacity! As of last night I think it was at 83% full. I think I may need to put "watch tv" on my to do list!! :hiphip:
I'm going to visit an old friend of my Mom's after work tonight. She was one of the "domestic terrorists" who was jailed with my Mom back in the 80's while peacefully protesting outside abortion clinics and at the DNC in Atlanta. She has a knack for telling stories and I enjoy hearing stories about adventures she and my Mom had.
Nothing too exciting planned for this weekend. I'm hoping to get the china cabinet filled up after last weeks painting and maybe start to get some of the stuff back on the walls.
