I watched my ds play 2 basketball games tonight. They won the first game. The second team was really good but I think we put up a good fight. My ds made the first basket for his team in the 3rd quarter. This was his first ever. He's never played bball before this year but he is working really hard and I am proud of him for that. They have another game tomorrow as it is a tournament. I think I need to learn more about basketball. Geez, it's like you have to learn about all the things your kids do. I'm not a sports watcher.

I don't know what day it feels like but definitely not Friday. I don't know how Georgie does this on a regular basis. :surrender:

(I'm talking about her Georgian calendar - figured I should specify since you all have dirty minds. :snicker: )
 
I'm sad tonight. My dad just told me that his cat died.Her name was Squirrel cause when she was born she was as tiny as a baby squirrel. She was 13 & a very large cat. My dad lives alone & now has 2 cats left. He treats them as if they are babies (guess that's where i get it from). I worry about him living alone.

I'm also worried about my mom. She has made some very bad decisions lately. She finally dumped the loser she was with only to move another worse loser in...who stole money & her credit cards. She has been so depressed that she let herself get ill & my dad & sister took her to the hospital. They gave her iv fluids & said she was severely depresssed.She wouldn't stay.They live in Ky. so it's not like i can go visit often.

I know i'm going to sound selfish & like a horrible person but i just can't deal with this. Why can't parents act like parents & not behave as if they were children?
 
Hugs Pam.....not fun stuff to deal with. I'm sorry to hear about your Dad's cat too. :pout:

Yeah but I am in the process of packing to move, and I am packing up the dishes and only saving the bare essentials for us to use. So the ones I have saved for us are all dirty LOL

No, I havent really posted much about it.

In a nutshell:

we receive rental assistance. Got a letter in the mail a week after Pat was incarcerated and was told that because Pat is a sex offender, we cannot get assistance anymore. THey included a **** ton of materials backing that information up.......EXCEPT that that in the paperwork, it states that sex offenders that register for LIFE cannot receive assistance. I am in the process of appealing, and in my huge manilla envelope I am including a TON of information about sex offenders including the tier levels and reasons that some get life registry and some get 10 year registry like Pat. THe lady that takes care of the housing assistance in my area has worked there 20 years and didnt know that there were sex offenders getting assistance. Really? Who is doing your job??

So why are we moving? 2 weeks before Pats sentencing, our LL came to the apartment and handed him a letter, stating that we are being asked to leave and he cant wait to have us out of there. Pat asked why we were all having to leave because he (the LL) promised that Jonny and I would have a place to live no matter what happened to Pat. LL looked at him and said tough ****. So, after I got home from work, I went to LL's house and asked him about it. He said "at the advice of his lawyer" he is asking us to leave. I told him that I wanted a letter from his lawyer stating this. He said I didnt deserve it. I asked him what Jonny and I did to deserve this treatment...and he said its because I am staying with a child molester. I told him again that I wanted a letter from his lawyer and he told me no. I then told him that I didnt believe he had a lawyer and taht if he did, he would supply me with a letter, at MY expense. He again said I didnt deserve it. So, we have til Feb 1 to be out. I found a place but they are in the process of remodelling so I cant move yet. Plus I dont have the $$. Should be ready by Jan 1, and the rental assistance appeal should be done by then.

On a happier note, I got a letter from Pat today and he is down 10 pounds and his letters have been very upbeat! He is doing ok and I am so glad. I still havent talked to him on the phone but he has money on his account and we are just waiting for him to be able to call. Should be any day now :)
 
Just got home from crafting all day with Aki and Piggers! We had fun and made some super cute cheap Christmas presents!!! We are going to make it a yearly get together:)
 
Went to see Harry Potter today. Hanging out with the hubby and kids and finishing up laundry!!
