Does your younger child still speak Mandarin?

No. She was only 17 months when she came home. We did have her taking lessons but it didn't work too well. She was only 3 and had no interest. We will probably try again, though.

Did you ask for older child? I thought most of them are younger!

They used to be younger. China is kind of phasing out their non special needs adoptions. Wenwen is a special needs adoption. I belong to a Yahoo group that advocates for children needing homes. I found her picture on their site and asked about her. It didn't really matter to us whether we brought home a child older or younger than DD. We figured birth order would be crazy no matter what. I am kind of done with the baby part of being a mom. It was fine, but I need my sleep! Plus, not too many people want the older kids. When they turn 14 they age out of the system and are put onto the streets. So, I was drawn to the older kids. Also-there are tons more older boys waiting than girls. TONS more boys.
