Table tennis. That's how it's listed at all competitions or betting websites. Ping pong is more of a slang term, derived from the onomatopoeic sound of the game.
I believe it is actually called table tennis because it is a form of tennis which we play on a table. Ping pong is just the name of the ball.
What do you think? Should we name a game after its nature or a ball used to play it?
You're supposed to call it table tennis but I find myself calling it ping pong more often. I just I'm just used to calling it that since I was a little kid.
To me it is either way. Either you say it, it is still the same thing. There is a lot of people who says that it ping pong and other people that say it is table tennis. But to me it is not a sport it is just a regular game any way you may call the game.
When I was growing up, it was always thought of as ping pong. Now that I am older, I have heard of it both as ping pong and table tennis. I still do hear of it as being called ping pong more than table tennis.
It is Ping Pong when you play in Asia, and Table Tennis in the west. The name ping pong is directly translated from chinese as they call it either ping pong ball or table ball. I've been in an international school since second grade so know both western and asian culture.
Whoa, I used to think these two games are one and the same. I used to play ping pong (or was it table tennis LOL) when I was younger but don't get to play it nowadays.
Table Tennis is what I have always known it as, I've never been asked for a game of ping pong. Ping pong sounds a little like some Korean Sushi Rolls that went off.
Lol at the third poll option. I never call it table tennis either, but believe it's the proper name for it. I think calling it Ping Pong is just like calling basketball "Hoops". Both are okay by me.
