I have never been that much of a risk taker, I like my alcohol simple and strong, rum and coke, jack and coke, or just streight jack . . . no ice no water, just booze. Although I think I will have to try some stuff sometime . . . see what I can come up with
Luckily, while I was in Spain, the only thing I could order in coherent spanish "Pina y Malibu" happened to be one of my favorite drinks. I'm a huge sour fan, Amaretto Sours in particular.
Ih the words of the Kids in the Hall, I admit it-- I'm a "girl-drink drunk"
I've gotten to the point where I do a pretty good job of making my own amaretto sours. Add a splash of grenadine, and I'm good to go. Unfortunately, someone I used to work with told me whiskey sours were just like amaretto sours. No, no they are not.
The best was getting a Lime Slush from Sonic and mixing it with Vodka. That was my favorite after I discovered drinking in High School.
Later I met a friend who introduced me to a social, shot drink called a Mr. Bill's. You mix it in a Bartenders large mixing pail. It is a shot of all the white liquors and a shot of sprite or some other appropriate lemon-lime cola. It could be 2 or more of each depending on the size of your party. Mix it with some ice to make it cold, but not enough to water it down. Then pour off shots for everyone. My friend billed this drink as a great party starter, and aphrodisiac... LOL
I used to love to drink vodka.. anyway I too tried to make a screwdriver with an OJ substitute... I used orangina.. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE H-H-HORRIBLE!!!
Hrm can't think of any weird mixed drink that I liked.. At a small party tho I brought with me a bottle of tanquiri (sp?!), jim beam, and absolut with me.. basically the stuff my parents got for free from new years parties that they never touch.. woot free booze hehe
Anyway at the party they mixed all that stuff up together with some other blue liquor.. I was sooooooo F'd up
