I attended a family event this Saturday, as I walked in my cousins wife's mom (got that?)said "you look very nice today, i really like how you did your makeup and that color on you is really flattering" my great aunt laughed and said" obviously you stopped running because youre fat, if you gain more weight you are going to look like you are pregnant again! dont lie to her she looks fat"
Then she said" you are what? a size 12?"...
my dh walks in at that moment and she says...he gained weight too...
and dont even get me started on her rude comments about my 3 month old...seriously, who insults a 3 month old!
My mom was raised by my great aunt. Both her parents died when she was very young. My great aunt therefore did not have an easy life, she became responsible for 5 kids at a very young age. Therefore we are expected to be nice to her because eventhough she is and has always been a raging ****, she raised my mom and she is grateful for it...BUT ITS SO HARD TO BE NICE TO HER!! mind u she said all this nice and loud so EVERYONE could hear.
When I was skinnier she told everyone I must be anorexic and I looked ugly because I lost too much weight..now Im ugly cause Im fat. Inevitably I went home and ate a lot because I was upset...I wanted to say I just had a baby but it felt whiny...
OMG!! WTF!! That is so mean!! That is a horrible thing to say!! OMG!! WTF!!she should be kicking the bucket soon. use her ashes in the litter box.

I used to be a fitness instructor. Never ate anything that was "bad", never missed a class or a chance to workout. I even worked through 4 misscariages. Yep take a day off or two maybe and back to teaching classes. Then I got pregnant again and I said enough I taught classes until I was 16 weeks pregnant. I told everyone I had a "back" injury so I really took it easy and then one day I said I am done. I ENJOYED my pregnancy, I delivered a baby full term, healthy and 8 pounds. Then I had another baby, never lost the extra weight from the first. Who cared. I didn't. Now I have 2 HEALTHY boys and I am a size 12. Does it bother me....... sometimes, but I am OK with it. I think it bothers other people. I am happy, my boys are happy, and my husband is happy. Embrace yourself and your family. That is what matters. Not what anyone else says.
Oh to be a size 12 again, how I would LOVE to be a size 12 again! You are probably glowing with the beauty of motherhood and she is just JEALOUS! Be the bigger person: smile, be nice, kill her with kindness, and be the example that you want YOUR children to see and to be when they grow up.
I had a mean grandmother who treated my mom SO badly, that my mother has a lifetime membership to a psychiatrist and antidepressants. I learned early that she was nothing but a bellows on a hot fire just trying to make things worse because it made her feel better to be the 'alpha person'. I would smile, be sweet, leave and just go on my merry life as my father (whom she despised) told me. EVERYBODY hated her.
It may be why I'm a size 20 today. But I'm also lucky enough to have friends who don't see my size as a hindrance to a lovely relationship. I even had a girlfriend who invited to one of those home parties that sold clothes, but they didn't carry my size. She was mortified to find out that they couldn't accommodate me and apologized profusely making it quite clear that she thought I was a only a 14. Imagine that, blind friendship . . . but a beautiful one to see past my 'outer package!'
Take a deep breath and no that one day your great aunt will get her just reward.
:huggy:
Off the topic, I have a couple questions for you. What exercise is good to lose the belly fat and what is good for the triceps? I do go to the gym regularly. I do crunch, push up, walking, running and stretching. Anything else you would recommend?
In order to lose fat you have to do cardio. And mix it up. Classes, interval walking & running, eleptical. Change things up and get to your target heart rate and keep it there for atleast 30 minutes. This will help burn fat. As for your triceps: you could do dips and pushup (which you do) tricep extensions and bicep work. The tricep and bicep muscles work off of each other. Add in some back and shoulder work. Work your upper body. This will make you stronger and leaner.
I posted in the Friday 'sup thread - but this seems like another good place to post. I'm not promoting this particular studio (http://studioenergiaonline.com/ but would love if you came and joined my friends and me) but I've wanted to try Zumba for a couple of months but was too embarrassed because of my size. A friend called me one night to let me know about a studio that had just opened up down the street from my house. The first class was free and it was as much fun as I expected it to be. I've lost 5lbs in two weeks and haven't changed my eating at all.
Am I the largest person in class? Yep, but I'm having fun so I don't care.
So if you are looking for something new and fun to try - look for a zumba class.
pray for me
Thanks for posting this since I live close to you. Wanted to try this. I might even be able to beat you in the big girl dept too. :giggles:
