Ibotta

Unless you are the type that pays cash for everything, one swipe of your credit card and they have a ton of info about you anyway.

And even if you are the type that pays cash, you can pretty much bet that as soon as you walk into any of the larger or chain stores, your picture ends up on their security camera anyway.

I don't care about the store having information about me, that's kind of an given since there is a contract whenever you buy stuff....

but the fact they want a scan with all the information clearly readable rubs me the wrong way...I don't know exactly how they're verifying these, they'd have to be communicating with the stores somehow; can't they just check using the barcode on the receipt? the retailer could instantly tell them if it was a valid receipt and verify the person bought the specific item....I don't see the point of them needing all the other information

There aren't rebates for everything....as is not nearly as many products as they have/do offer. And that would go directly back to the store or the manufacturer, there doesn't need to be some third party involved.

If a 3rd party was giving out rebates for everything, I would be signing up for all the rebates. If someone wanted info about me that bad, they would still get it.

Hey LOF, IF you are not willing to use this service will you kindly send me your smartphone and I will use it! What pisses me off is that I need a smartphone or an IPAD to take advantage of this...really don't want to waste the money even for a prepaid smartphone...wish they would make these thngs more accessible to those of us who haven't joined the fad.

I will never submit to the apple cult or be a slave to monthly fees....

I got an android galaxy player for under $150...uses wifi

Supposedly part of the 75 percent off CVS clearance is Craig Android tablets marked down to $25.00. On the Ibotta site it says there is an Android app on Google Play. I don't know if Android-is-Android-is-Android or what, but if it is, I think the Ibotta app would pay for a $25 tablet pretty quickly.

I *might* have to delay my "First Day Back to School Pajama Day" by 15 minutes or so to check the stock at my CVS. $25 for a tablet seems like a good deal to me since Santa did not bring me an iPad. ;)

But generally there is a third party that is hired to process rebates - clearinghouses.

anyone know if you can use receipts dated before your join date?

i joined ibotta on 1/6 and submitted ONE (and only one) receipt dated 1/2.

got my credits.

this being said, please try not to abuse this as it is reasonable to assume that excessive submissions would cause review (ergo elimination)of this exception. ya know?:flowers:

I have been trying to do this all afternoon. How do you install the ap? When I search on the market it doesn't find Ibotta or Google Play. Maybe I can't do this on my phone............figures...............gah!

This tablet sucks! Dh bought one. It doesn't have google play, can't download the amazon app store. I forget what their app store is called, but I'd never heard of it before. A lot of popular apps aren't on there. It doesn't have enough memory for things like Angry Birds. Dh is a major computer geek and he gave up on it. And if that's not bad enough after less than 2 weeks it won't charge anymore. Plug the charger in and nothing happens. Wishing dh hadn't thrown out the packaging.

I read that the app works with Ipod touch (I don't have a smartphone) so I thought I would try to download it to mine and it worked. I went through the products and got to the part that says pick a store, are you only able to do the deal at the store you pick? Just wondering on this because I wanted to do one of the deals at CVS but CVS is not coming up as one of the stores I can pick.

Yes, it has to be one of the stores Ibotta is teamed up with. CVS is an option on mine, but I don't know if every coupon is available at every store.
