DS who is 11 has had homemade costumes every year but one year. My favorite are scuba diver, bubble gum machine , and mummy. I like the fact that he doesnt look like everyone else. It just seems like store costumes are more expensive and made so cheap now.
Finally got a costume figured out. I got vetoed on scarecrow so we are going with big foot. Going to fimd the largest pair of shoes I can find at 2nd hand store and he will wear one of them.

I am making a Torterra costume for Andrew. Tried to sell him on Ash, but no go.
When my girls were small I always insisted that they "went together". One year my DD got a beautiful Snow White costume and my baby was Dopey. Well I can stick a needle through material. I wouldn't call what I did sewing. I drew the pattern out and when I tried it on the poor dear couldn't move her arms. I guess I needed to make raglan sleeves. When I had 3 girls oldest was Warrior Mulan, Middle was Pretty Mulan, and the baby was a dog from the Mulan movie named little brother. Those were great years.
We dress up to go with DD costume. More thrift store and hot glue that actual sewing
