I would personally never consider using steroids. I have serious concerns about the long term health effects and my health is paramount.

Have you ever used steroids? What are your experiences? Would you consider using steroids?

I have never used steroids and never will use steroids.

Anything that has potential to shrink your balls Im not interested in :) I get too much use out of them! :)

I have had friends that have used steroids with no real negative effects, but I'd still never use them. I actually went to the gym with a guy last year who used them, and we were both at 225lbs on the bench press before he started, and within three months he was near 300lbs.

Most people don't realize this, but there's actually steroids that can be used to cut body fat. Bodybuilders used this method as it saves a ton of time. I have no interest in inserting a needle into my skin for something so stupid. For what I use it for, I'm strong enough :D

I think once you get to the level where you are considering steroids you are big enough in general. I dont like the look big boldybuilder types have - even though I respect them for the work they put in to get there.

Well, the problem is that people think steroids are just an easy way to look shredded. Most guys on steroids train harder than anyone else at the gym, they just have more assistance. A lot of people get on steroids just because they're lazy, that's what bothers me.

The general public is very ignorant about steroids. No offence, but most of you should educate yourselves before bashing steroids. The danger involved with steroid use has been greatly exaggerated by the media.

And to answer the question, no, I have not steroids.

If they're used properly there isn't a major risk, but for the most part, they aren't. People who use steroid's need to educate themselves. It's not the bodybuilders who are attracting all the negative stories, it's the amateurs who have no idea how to dose or use.

The only steroids I have used were prescribed by my doctor for asthma and related respiratory problems.I would never consider using them for performance enhancing reasons.

Yes I have used steroids before. I cycled a low dose of Test Enanthate @250mg/week for 12 weeks. No side effects, had a great experience. Will not use steroids again though because it puts a lot of strain on the endocrine system.

Every steroid does have side effects, but it is possible to minimize the risk involved.

But you're right, most people just use them as a shortcut and end up harming their body because they are clueless in general.

I have not used them and will not use them. I have considered it before but after researching all the side effects and seeing young people die from them I won't go near them. I've actually had a friend recently who has been in and out of hospital, constantly doing tests for the past few weeks. It's quite sad really.

I believe body image has become so important now that kids will do what ever it takes to get it despite consequences. They don't realize what they're doing to themselves or their bodies until it's too late. This whole obsession with body image is ridiculous now. No one takes you seriously unless you have some size, so young teenagers tend to rush into things and start 'gearing up' so they're looked up too but they lack the sufficient knowledge to do a steroid cycle which they shouldn't be doing anyway, being so young.

We have body image and society to thank for the increase in steroid use in young adults/teenagers.

Well, like we were saying, it's the people who have no idea what they're doing who tend to do harm to themselves. That's not to say steroids aren't dangerous, but with proper knowledge, the risk is minimized considerably.

You're right though, body image is such a concern for people these days it's almost sickening. For a kid to turn to steroids in hopes of improving himself is sad. It's hard to believe there was a time when being over weight was not only acceptable, but ideal....

I agree 100%. The knowledge on steroid use is not there or is very minimal hence the large amount of side effects. Here's a video on what Australians think body building should be.

It's a great watch. I must admit that many of the things they are talking about is true, especially how Australia portrays body image now. I find that anywhere I go, if you aren't 'aesthetic' then forget it. You won't get anything your way. It's an unhealthy obsession of having to look like these steroid users. Now, I looked up to Zyzz. I am aware that he was using or rather abusing steroids but I still say if it wasn't for him, I would still be trying to lift 8kg. The amount of effort and hard work Zyzz put in to get that body is enough motivation for me. I will not take steroids but the way Zyzz changed his body just amazes me!

Ive never used steriods but a few of my buddies have. Quick question though, why use Test E for 12 weeks with just a 250 mg/ week dose. I wouldnt do anything less than 500 mg a week from what Ive heard about it.

The media makes steriods out to be ridiculous though. Watch Bigger Stronger Faster if you're interested in the world of steriods.

No I've personally never used steroids, I don't think it is worth the risk especially with the likely health problems you will have when you're older. I knew a couple of friends who did take some performance enhancing drugs, they never told me what they were taking but they said they never got any side effects from them and they say it helped them a lot.

I do agree most people use them as a shortcut, but some people use them once they've pushed their body as far as it can go. I guess I can understand that.

No. And Im not planning on using them ever, not becouse Im afraid of the side effects but becouse I dont want to be a cheater. However I dont judge people that do use them, if thats what you need to achieve what you want then go for it. They just arent for me.

I'm with footie fan on this one.

Why a sane man would use ANYTHING with the ability to make your johnson smaller is beyond me? Not just that, steroids make you irritable and give you really bad breath

I've never used them and have no plans of never using them. I like lifting weights and building muscle but have no desire to look like Jay Cutler. The way I see it, I can lift weights and eat healthy the rest of my life without ever looking like a freak. Do I blame anyone else for using steroids, no, to each his own.
