Of course today, we could just stick the stuff out the door and it would stay just as cold, LOL.
I don't know if y'all have had a chance to read the thread in the Internal Announcement forum yet but please do since it will affect us here. I don't plan on moving the chat site tho. That will stay put.
I just need to spend time learning to make graphics for other software or the new version of this one.
Congrats, Liz, on the new freezer. I hear ya on just plunking the stuff outside to stay cold! I'm so tired of bundling up.
Yes, I read the moving announcement. Just point me to the right place when the time comes. lol
Yesterday I went to mom's and was busy as usual. I was so tired by the time I got home that I was in bed by 9 pm. I slept until 6 am too!
Today I went food shopping which wore me out. Have an apple pie in the oven now and then I have to figure out what to have for dinner. Dh got all excited when he saw hot dog rolls...he LOVES hot dogs! So maybe Ill just do those. Easy and quick.
Liz, Glad to hear you got the new freezer in.... time for a Sam's run?
Carol, I'm with your dh, I love hot dogs, and no one here loves them with me... LOL
Sorry to hear you were so tired after your visit to moms, but glad you got a good nights sleep.
We did the Sam's run already, since we are getting half a roof this month (next half is Mar I think), we have no money to spare. But I still have the Angel Food Ministries ahead. That is in two weeks and will fill us up again.
Remember, we had a really bad spot on the front of the house that was pulled up. Well, we got a couple of estimates and while we didn't go with the least expensive, this one was willing to do it in two chunk's. Plus he had references and was bonded and certified. Yes, we did pay for some of it up front but only 1/3 of the first half. He gets the remaining 2/3's of the first half upon completion.
He's actually a general contractor so we will see about getting him to rebuild the storage room under the heat pump sometime this year. They will have to have the heat pump disconnected and lifted up while they rebuild it...more involved than a DIY project.
Carol it was is a program that was started to help folks out in rough financial situations.
It basically a discounted food program, you pay for the food, but at a much lower rate then the grocery store. Really helps us to be able to eat some nicer quality meats for the cost of hamburger basically.
Carol, it has no income restrictions and they do not order the food until you order it. However, the cost is much lower than what you would pay in the store and is of restaurant quality. They also have a section of made meals for seniors/homebound.
I know that the one we go to and I think all of them, have volunteers who go thru the line ahead of the rest for the homebound who can't make it in and deliver the food to them.
Most take credit/debit cards but not all, they distribute the food thru the churchs typically once a month.
To really describe it, it's a cross between a food pantry and a member warehouse like Sam's...you don't pay yearly fees like Sam's. But no income restrictions like a food pantry.
Now thats a first we are expecting up to 3 inches here as well.... should be fun... lots of area schools are closing, but not ours at this point, probably waiting to see if it is really going to snow.
