YES! Hahah.
I remember my mother wanted me to do some errands or to have a meaningful conversation in the middle of an online session in a game.

Another thing was the classic turn it off right now. You can't just turn off the game and lose your effort without saving and struggle to make her see how it is important to you. Some games are merciful and let yous save at any time but those that makes you chase totems.

All in all, my mum was patient with me. I know she could have done so much more to screw my gaming if she wasn't.

@Kaynil the same with my mum to be honest. Happens to me every single time when I'm either playing Grand Theft Auto Online or FIFA. It's like I can't pause GTA during an online race neither in free mode as I'll get killed and in FIFA you only get a few seconds to pause

If I was playing a game similar to League of Legends or MineCraft, I wouldn't mind since I could just type that I'd be away from keyboard for a few moments.

And there's Super Smash Bros., where I wouldn't care about placing my controller down to help my mother since online statistics don't matter as they're not viewable...

But then there's also Call of Duty, where I would get super annoyed and frustrated every time my mom would call me from her room. So many rage quits and ruined K: D/W:L ratios, I lost count. My mom is impatient too, so I had no choice but to tend to her before I can continue. Sometimes I would get lucky by hiding in a bush or building, but that didn't matter if the game was intense and I wanted to win. This became a pressing issue when I would play the zombies mode with my friends too and the game grew frantic for survival.

And she would always call me to do trivial things like throw out the trash, wash the dishes, or go to the market with her as if those tasks couldn't wait.

I don't live at home anymore or play Call of Duty, but those were the days. X)

At this point, I care so little about my "status" on online games that if I was living with my parents (at age 22) I would gladly remove myself from the game. Before you say "you're not a gamer then" well this is probably true in some aspect that I don't really care enough about the games anymore to ignore people that have authority over me and that provide the Internet connection for me to even be able to play the online game. (I sound like an old man) Anyway, I hope this contributes well to this conversation ;)

This image made my day, seriously a lot of older folks don't really get this. Though it would be nice if online games made some effort to put in a pause option that takes you out of play for a set amount of time.

You have a point and it's a good one. I think most of us and gamers actually know about this. But it's also undeniable that you don't want to waste your time going through the same place or doing the same things because you can't ask for extra time to find a way to pause or save the game. It's frustrating. I agree with you now that I don't play games that much anymore, but pretty sure I'll say the same thing to Mom if she tells me to stop a game I'm playing for not-so-urgent reasons. :P

Yeah, true, don't get me wrong I understand the point that is being made in this thread but I feel each time is situational and dependent on the person.
